Gym, Saturday night

Even silent, Tyler seemed especially confident as he waited for people to show up in the gym. He was barefoot, and clad in a tank top and sweats.

As people came in, he handed them sheets of paper with "Fight Club Rules" scrawled at the top.

1. What happens here, stays here.
2. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR PARTNER. Match is over when someone signs "stop."
3. Only two to a fight.
4. One fight at a time.
5. No shoes. Padding only if you need it.
6. Fights go on as long as they have to. Someone's bleeding too much or knocked out? Fight's over.
7. Play nice, boys and girls.

[OOC: Here's how this will work. "Listen" to Tyler and mingle in the top thread. When you've paired off, start a new thread for that match. Handwave the "one fight at a time" thing. And please try not to send each other to the infirmary -- they'll be busy enough. Thanks.]

Alphonse tried to step backwards, though it wasn't quick enough. The kick caused his knee to give in and fall forward towards the floor, but he quickly caught himself into a crouching position and swung his other leg around to sweep Parker off her feet.

Parker expected this, but not how fast he was. Her jump upward wasn't quick enough not to get hit, and she landed badly, stumbling away, off-balance. She whirled around, arms up to block, hoping he wasn't back up yet.

While she was in the middle of stumbling over, Alphonse sprung up and was about to throw another punch. He saw she quickly gaurded herself with her arms, so instead swung another kick towards her waist.

Parker blocked with her left leg -- and another place that was going to bruise tomorrow-- and managed to deflect the brunt of it. Then she threw a fast combination at Alphonse's torso: right-punch, left, jab at the shoulder.

Alphonse didn't pull back fast enough and the punches connected. With a very silent 'Omph!', he stumbled backwards, immidiately trying to regain his balance. That hit harder than he expected, but he tried to shake it off and jumped forward, throwing another punch at her right shoulder.

Parker swung and knocked it up, turned with another left-handed punch, heading straight for his torso.

Alphonse stepped aside towards her left side, aiming a sideways kick around to her back.

Parker winced and took it on her hip, in order to move forward again.

Punch-punch, then a jump-kick! forward.

Alphonse managed to avoid the punches, but was too distracted by those to anticipate the kick afterwards. It hit his chest, temporarily knocking the wind out of him, then-- probably very sloppily on his part, for not deciding to fully recover instead-- swung a punch towards her.

Parker caught the badly-aimed fist, grinned wickedly, and hit his jaw with the heel of her other hand.

Before he could pull back far enough, Parker's hit caught the edge of his chin, which in the end still hurt like hell. He stepped backwards, rubbing underneath his jaw, then held up a hand.

'You've got me there,' he mouthed.

Parker stopped, paused, then took a step back when it was clear he meant it. She winced, opening her hands, and wrung out the one that had hit him, then offered it to him to shake. 'Good match,' she mouthed.

Alphonse took her hand without hesitation and shook it. He opened his mouth to say something, but quickly went back to the pile where his coat and shoes were, pulled out the small notepad and pen, then scribbled on it, 'Good match.' he wrote with agreement. Then he added, 'I'm a bit out of practice, but you're also pretty good yourself.'

Parker grinned, and gave him a thumb's up, then took the pen and wrote, Thanks. I try. Spar with Aeryn when we can, usually lose. She grinned. Any time you want a rematch.

'Sure thing, I'll definately keep it in mind.' Alphonse wrote in response.
