Gym, Saturday night
Even silent, Tyler seemed especially confident as he waited for people to show up in the gym. He was barefoot, and clad in a tank top and sweats.
As people came in, he handed them sheets of paper with "Fight Club Rules" scrawled at the top.
1. What happens here, stays here.
2. PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR PARTNER. Match is over when someone signs "stop."
3. Only two to a fight.
4. One fight at a time.
5. No shoes. Padding only if you need it.
6. Fights go on as long as they have to. Someone's bleeding too much or knocked out? Fight's over.
7. Play nice, boys and girls.
[OOC: Here's how this will work. "Listen" to Tyler and mingle in the top thread. When you've paired off, start a new thread for that match. Handwave the "one fight at a time" thing. And please try not to send each other to the infirmary -- they'll be busy enough. Thanks.]

Re: Peter + Sakurazaki
He didn't expect the push against his blade though and was thrown off by that and her leap. Jumping back, he kept the strike away from his head and neck, but took part of it on his upper shoulder.
Which would normally be covered by armour so he wasn't too concerned.
He struck back immediately, taking advantage of his longer reach and trying to slice across her midsection before she came down from the jump.
Re: Peter + Sakurazaki
About two seconds before she touches ground, the slice nicks her side. Since her mind is already focused on springing away, she still does a second later. Her leap takes her face, and she bring her sword back sharply, swinging it through the air as she opens her mouth to call out an attack...
...and remembers after the swing useless swing at nothing that, oh, yeah, she can't call out attacks. Her moment of chastisement probably opens her up pretty well.
Re: Peter + Sakurazaki
He strikes directly toward her open side.
Re: Peter + Sakurazaki
Ugh, even the shape of the practise sword was different...This was not good.

Finally, as Setsuna was attacking, he parried her blade hard and sent a firm stroke diagonally slicing towards her right shoulder.

He'd been hit enough times in the darn shoulder - which was going to hurt tomorrow, yes - to start to adjust his stance a bit to protect it. Blocking Sakurazaki's strike with his own blade, he tried to force her blade back up, then disengaging quickly, he arced his towards her unprotected right side.
Re: Peter + Sakurazaki
Awkward, but good for leverage. She forces his sword away, swinging her own around as she assumes a ready position.
Re: Peter + Sakurazaki
Finally, he stepped in to engage again in another rattle of the practice swords. After a flurry of strikes, he tried again for a blow to the midsection.
Re: Peter + Sakurazaki
With another showy swirl of the sword, Sakurazaki lunges forward, down to one knee, with a clean swipe at Peter's knees. It was a move that worked much better when she had sheath and sword, because then each could approach of each side. But it was still effective with one weapon, hopefully.
