Having decided remaining inside his alcove was just entirely too boring, Cedric's ventured out into the main area.

The soreness is still there but not as strong and it looks to be just a bad memory soon.

And, just for fun, he doodles on Jaye's sign. Just a random stick figure but a doodle nonetheless.

"...really?" He looks at her carefully. "So, you can break bones?"

"If properly motivated," Sam admitted, "but I can teach you how to do that, too."

"I think I'd like that," Cedric says. "Because I was virtually defenseless when I could not talk."

"Why?" Sam asked, having no understanding at all of how magic worked. "And as soon as I can arrange it, I can teach you and Jack together, if you don't think you'd be too distracted to learn anything."

"The magic I use relies on a voice to call the spell out," he explains. "I couldn't do that and, therefore, was useless."

"Oh, yikes," Sam winced. "What do you do if you get a regular case of laryngitis?"

"It hasn't happened to me yet," he admits. "What happened to me just recently is the first time I've had to deal with such a thing. It didn't turn out so good."

"I heard. Jack was really worried," and now Sam was, too. "Are you sure you should be up? I can make you some tea or something."

"I'm really fine," he assures her. "I don't plan on any exercise until I'm healed. If you see me jogging, you're free to take me down."
