Outside the dorms, Thursday afternoon

After Wilderness Survival, Walter decided he hadn't had enough of weather that wasn't actively trying to roast him, so he took Pup out onto the front lawn to throw the frisbee and let them both get a bit of exercise. He'd managed to get the red tie away from Pup when they came outside and had it draped around his neck to keep it from further indignities of being dragged through wet or muddy grass.

"The latter is the exact opposite where I am from," Walter mused. "Only the strong can endure the sun."

Pup indeed did jump, doing a credible imitation of a Jack Russell terrier with his bounces.

Tim grinned, letting Pup get the frisbee. "Things in my world tend to obey the laws ascribed by folklore. So, him being able to go out in the sun makes him, almost not a whole Vampire, if I understand it correctly."

Pup pulled the frisbee down to the ground and pounced on it with his front paws, growling fiercely at it.

"I've been learning that vampires don't follow the same rules in our various worlds. It's a good thing to keep in mind when dealing with them. They're dangerous enough without thinking you know how to manage them and finding out you're dead wrong."

Tim nodded. "Oh believe me, with the stuff I deal with back home, I don't take anything for granted."

"Fandom is a good place to learn that if you don't get it at home," Walter said, grinning at Pup, who had grabbed the frisbee in his jaws and rolled onto his belly, practically grinning around the plastic.

Tim smiled too. "yeah, that's part of why I came in the first place."

"How's your Fandom education coming along so far?"

Walter stepped in to intervene before Pup could try impaling the frisbee on a stick again.

"I didn't even blink when I heard about everyone thinking they were someone else." Tim said. "That happens, what, every other week?"

"It's happened two weeks in a row for me," Walter admitted. "Once when my girlfriend turned into a gremlin and bit me, and once when everybody here seemed to have the same problem."

"Something about dropping a spirit stick?" Walter said dubiously. "She turned into a gremlin and ran around in the gym, biting people."
