Salle - Wednesday Late Morning

After a morning run, Peter arrived at the salle with some time to work on his own forms before Willow was supposed to meet him. He extracted Rhindon from the weapons' cabinet and began working through forms from the simplest moving on to the more difficult ones. He had planned on moving smoothly through them, but as he noticed corrections, he began to stop, reset himself and work through one or two moves over and over until he was happy with the flow. As often happens, he completely lost track of time.

Willow came in dressed in her usual workout clothes. She saw Peter practicing, and stood quietly, hoping not to disturb him.

And he didn't as he had finally corrected a sequence of footwork to his satisfaction and was flying through it trying to set it in his brain.

Willow had a pleased smile on her face. It was possible she was thinking that it was so nice to watch Peter doing what he loved. It was also possible that she felt he looked really hot doing it.

He finished the form and came to a halt with a huge grin. He sheathed his sword, still running through the ideas in his head when he saw Willow. If it were possible, his grin got wider as he bowed. "Lady! I'm so sorry. I didn't hear you come in."

"Sir Peter," she said, giving a little curtsey. "That's okay. I didn't want to interrupt."

She then waved. "Hi, Rhindon!"

"You wouldn't have," Peter replied with a decisive nod. He looked slightly startled at the greeting to his sword then smiled. "I'm sure he'd give you his greeting back if he were to talk."

"You looked like you were having fun," Willow said. She came forward, being mindful of the sword. "Do you think it was insulting for me to wave? Since he can't without help?"

Peter's smile turned a bit bashful. "I was, yes." He put his hand on the hilt at his waist. "Unless Fandom's affected him quite a bit, I don't think he minds one way or the other."

"I'm glad his feelings aren't hurt." Willow came closer and smiled up at him. "You looked very good."

"Thank you," Peter said, ducking his head though he was smiling. "I'm glad you weren't bored."

"Pretty much no danger of that ever when you're around," Willow told him.

Peter laughed and hugged her, being careful about his sword's hilt. "Likewise." He grinned. "Ready for swordwork?"

"I am ready to learn how to hug better, yes," Willow said, teasing.

"But I like your hugs as they are," Peter protested teasingly. "So maybe I shouldn't teach you?"

"What would we do with our time then?" Willow asked, grinning.

"Play hopscotch?" Peter suggested with a laugh.

"I'll have you know I'd whip your behind at that, buddy."

"We could try it and find out," Peter said with a gleam of challenge. "Or I could show you a basic form since I think you've learned enough to start putting it together."

"I can do forms?" Willow asked, excited.

"If you'd like," Peter said. "Some people aren't fond of them."

"Why not?" Willow asked.

"Well, there's an argument to be made that they set your mind in certain patterns so when you actually fight, you can't improvise into what's needed for that particular fight and opponent," Peter explained.

"What do you think?" Willow asked.

"I was taught them and use them," Peter said. "They're as much meditative as anything at times and help train your muscles to the fluidity of moving from one position to the next." He considered. "If one just practices strikes, I don't feel one learns how to put the moves together. It's a fine balance though."

"Then let's do forms," Willow said. "I trust you not to teach me something wrong."
