Second Floor Common Room, Thursday Evening

Sam was feeling blue, so she indulged herself in her almost one hundred percent sure-fire remedy--chocolate espresso brownie ice cream (right out of the pint container) and a series of musicals. First was New York, New York, then An American in Paris, and, finally, Singin' in the Rain. Yes, again.

Gene Kelly was the man, and that's all there was to it. She claimed the big comfy chair and prepared to be cheered up, damn it.

"And I'd like you to remain in one piece," Cedric tells her.

"So would I," she says. "Thanks."

"You're welcome," he says. "And don't be so afraid of flying. It can be quite fun."

"Flying's great as long as I have a bag of peanuts and an overpriced headset and am watching some stupid movie," she says. "When I'm doing it? Ack."

"So...you are actually going to be flying the ship?"

"Apparently? Maybe I'll just cram in there with Alec and it'll count."

"And you have no experience at this sort of thing?" Cedric looks worried now.

"I'm really good at talking until I don't have to do it?"

"Jaye," he says and sighs. "Tell me you have no experience."

"I have no real experience. Alec finally talked me onto the flying bike thingie."

"Now, that was easy, wasn't it?" Cedric asks. "Now, tell them that you have no real experience. And don't fly tomorrow."

Jaye grins. "I might go with that plan."
