Second Floor Common Room, Thursday Evening

Sam was feeling blue, so she indulged herself in her almost one hundred percent sure-fire remedy--chocolate espresso brownie ice cream (right out of the pint container) and a series of musicals. First was New York, New York, then An American in Paris, and, finally, Singin' in the Rain. Yes, again.

Gene Kelly was the man, and that's all there was to it. She claimed the big comfy chair and prepared to be cheered up, damn it.

Cedric's down on the second floor for no particular reason at all and, when he notices a familiar face, walks into the common room.

"Good evening, Sam."

"Grab a spoon, pull up a chair," Sam offered. "What's up?"

He doesn't grab a spoon but he does take a seat. "Absolutely nothing. Enjoying a quiet night inside?"

Sam nodded. "Yup. What about you? Just out wandering?"

Jaye heads into the common room, sees Sam, then leaves the room really quickly.

When she returns a couple minutes later, she's bringing down a bottle of Jack Daniels and saying, "And to you I leave my legacy."

"Legacy?" Sam was now very confused. And also contemplating if she could make a chocolate espresso ice cream and Jack Daniels float. "Where are you going?"

"That Cor-thingie Anakin's from or whatever," she explains. "They want me to fly a spaceship. So I have one day to live."

Sam chuckled. "I'm sure he won't let you fly a spaceship if you're not ready. Coruscant's actually a great place--lots of good shopping."

"Good evening, Jaye," Cedric says.

"Aw, I'm going to miss your accent," says Jaye.

Parker waved to Jaye. "You're dying soon, I hear. What music do you want at the funeral?"

"Push It by Salt and Pepa," Jaye answers.

Cameron stuck his head into the common room and blinked. He recognised the classic behaviour; black & white movie and ice cream.

"Yo, Sam."

"Hey, Sam," smiled Elizabeth, towelling her hair dry as she entered the common room. "Everything okay?"

Sam automatically offered Liz the carton of ice cream. "Yeah. Just a mood. How're you?"

Elizabeth smiled sympathetically and crossed to the kitchen area to find a spoon. "Pretty good. Glad to be back in Fandom and really starting to look forward to classes starting up again," she said. "Anything I can do to help?"

Parker waved to Liz as she folded herself up on the couch. "Hey, Liz. How goes it?"

"Hey, Parker," replied Elizabeth, smiling. "I'm doing pretty good. How are you? I haven't had the chance to speak to you in ages."

Parker wanders in later, about when they're doing American in Paris. Possibly she has Cyd Charisse radar.

Sam waved from where she was now stretched out on the couch in a sugar coma.

Parker put an afghan over Sam. And considered putting flowers on her head, to make her look like Ophelia the dead girlfriend in Amleth.
