Second floor common room [Evening]

Anakin had spent most of the day brooding meditating and replaying the trip to Coruscant in his mind.

The thoughts it had led to had been entirely too depressing.

That's why he had migrated up to the second floor common room and commandeered the television set.

Not that the last Space Battles prequel was any less depressing, but he could keep himself entertained by mocking the terrible technology and equally terrible dialogue.

Drawn by the explosions and space battles, Peter wandered into the common room. "Evening, everyone. What's being watched?"

"Peter!" Bridge waves. "Old scifi. Though I guess it's new scifi, from your perspective."

"Bridge! And new definitely," Peter said, tilting his head at the spaceships. "My brand of sci fi was more stories on the radio. That had better dialogue at least."

"Yeah, and apparently the reasoning with this movie was that the dialogue can be crap because everyone's looking at the pretty shiny special effects anyway, and not paying attention to what's being said." Bridge rolls his eyes.

"They are pretty and shiny," Peter agreed, still watching them. "Though I'm so far from being an expert on that, it's like I'm in China."

"And for me it's the same idea, in the opposite direction," Bridge says. "Not that we really got much of a chance to watch TV at the Academy? But technology's improved quite a bit since... well, now."

"Unsurprisingly really," Peter said. "Since you have space flight and all that. How've you been?"

"Pretty good," Bridge grins. "Anniversary-type-stuff was yesterday."

"Truly?" Peter smiled warmly at Bridge. "Congratulations to you."

"It's really terrible!" Anakin said helpfully.

"Sounds like an excellent reason to watch!" Peter replied, laughing. "How was Coruscant?"

Anakin sighed. "Jaye refused to fly, Zack accidentally bought drugs and I got a lecture from Master Windu because Jude decided to skateboard through the Temple. It was a long couple of days."

"Sounds eventful," Peter said. "I'm not sure which sounds worse really. Is Zack well?"

"He was acting like a weetiny bunny, but more hyper," Anakin said. "I haven't seen him today, but I left a message on his machine to check up."

Peter laughed. "Somehow I can see that with Zack even without the additional influences. He should be at basketball tomorrow. I can make sure he's well then too."

"It was a little scary, yeah," Anakin said, smiling. "How have you been?"

"Quite well, thank you," Peter replied. "Just amazed summer's already almost over."

Anakin nodded a little sadly. "I know."
