Second floor common room [Evening]

Anakin had spent most of the day ~~brooding~~ meditating and replaying the trip to Coruscant in his mind.

The thoughts it had led to had been entirely too depressing.

That's why he had migrated up to the second floor common room and commandeered the television set.

Not that the last Space Battles prequel was any less depressing, but he could keep himself entertained by mocking the terrible technology and equally terrible dialogue.

Sam nodded. "Yeah, that's fair."

Tyler grinned at that. "I bet you have other talents."

"Only if you're into fighting, science, or blowing things up," Sam admitted.

Tyler blinked at her.

"Marry me."

Sam laughed. "Tyler! This is so sudden."

"That's not a no," Tyler said. "We could run away to Vegas. I have an ID that says I'm 20."

"No, I'm very sorry, Tyler, but I won't marry you," she chuckled, "but I will keep you in mind if I ever need someone with whom to blow things up?"

Tyler pretended to pout for a minute, then brightened. "That's probably better. Given that we don't actually know each other all that well and we're in high school."

"What's the biggest thing you've ever blown up?" Sam asked.

Tyler had avoided answering this question before, but if he was talking to another expert ... "That my explosives worked, it was a condo unit. About a thousand square feet."

He scratched his chin. "You?"

Oh, Sam was so going to win this competition. "A sun."

Yep, she won. Tyler would have liked to know how she got to blow up a sun, but asking would have opened him to questions about why exactly he blew up a condo, and it was better not to go there.

"So I guess you can teach me something."

Sam had assumed that Tyler's father was a contractor and he'd been allowed to help with the demolition, or something like that.

"Maybe. And I'm always looking for good ideas."

If Tyler could read minds, he would have appropriated that for his cover story.

"I've played around with homemade stuff, mostly," Tyler said. "I was trying to get something with battery acid and latex to work when I messed myself up earlier this term. Might be interesting to try it again in more controlled conditions."

Sam considered that for a minute. "Have you been in the Danger Shop yet? We made explosives there last fall and blew up some pumpkins."

"Only for classes and detentions," Tyler said. "They let you play around in there?"

"Oh, this was for class," Sam said.

"We have a teacher who blows stuff up, and I missed the class all summer?" Tyler said, shaking his head. "There should have been an announcement."

Sam chuckled and tucked some hair behind her ear. "No, he left before you got here. Mac taught the shop class."

"Ah," Tyler said. "Hopefully the new shop teacher will be accomodating."

"Here's hoping," Sam nodded. "It was a good time, but the pumpkin fighting was a mess."

"Which probably made it fun," Tyler said. "But if we were going to blow something up in there, what would we have to do?"

"We'd probably have to get permission first, then program the computer with safety protocols. We'd also need the right materials." Sam ticked the list off on her fingers.

"If you got permission, I could brave the weapons store and figure out materials," Tyler offered.

Sam nodded. "Yeah, I could do that. Plus we'd need something to blow up."
