Second floor common room [Evening]

Anakin had spent most of the day brooding meditating and replaying the trip to Coruscant in his mind.

The thoughts it had led to had been entirely too depressing.

That's why he had migrated up to the second floor common room and commandeered the television set.

Not that the last Space Battles prequel was any less depressing, but he could keep himself entertained by mocking the terrible technology and equally terrible dialogue.

Parker snickered, though she really shouldn't have, given the ulcer she'd almost given herself last term. "Maybe? Better wait and see what's scheduled when, before you start planning too much. The clubs and activities will start up again too, you don't want to overload yourself *too* much."

"I wasn't really big into clubs in my old school," Willow said. "Scoobying took up most of my non-class related freetime."

"Some of ours are fun, though. Self-defense. Hamlet had a swordmanship club for a while. Newspaper." Parker shrugged. "I'm in Gun Club and Investigator's Club, which was our version of your Scoobies, last year."

"I've been learning swordwork with Peter," Willow said. "Maybe there could be a club for that too?"

"Hamlet might want to start it up again. Or talk to Alanna-- she's really good." Parker grinned, pulling her legs up underneath her. "I'm trying to think of how to top Shirtless Day to greet the newbies, though. Maybe tell them all they have to climb the building with Jamie?"

"The natural joys of Fandom aren't enough?" Willow joked, remembering her first day.

"Now you're being silly." Parker smirked. "They won't believe us about the gremlins until they meet them anyway. Might as well get them in an accepting frame of mind."

"I certainly didn't," Willow agreed. "Though? After all my time here? I've come to accept it."

"Which means you can be ready for the next invasion, while the new kids gape and flail." Parker grinned. "And I'm studying swords too. Hopefully we won't need them for the first wave, though."

"The jello dragons weren't too bad," Willow said. "Much easier to deal with than vampires, albeit fruiter. Insert your own joke about Angel ....here"

"I missed those. I'm hoping we don't get a repeat on the vampires, although at least Fandom hasn't had anything happen twice yet. So, does this means he wiggles and jiggles?" Parker shook her head. "Can't believe I'm looking forward to the routine so much."

"Summer fun is nice but it's not nearly as enjoyable as being in class," Willow said, with no trace of irony.

"You're definitely not going back to Sunnydale, then?"

A quick look of worry crossed Willow's face, but she tried to hide it. "Um. No. I like it better here."

Which wasn't false per se.

Parker studied her, then offered, "It'll be different with Xander gone. I'm really going to miss him."

"Me too," Willow said. "Though he's going to college. I'm very proud of him for that. For that I can be okay with email."

Parker smiled slightly. "He wasn't college material before Fandom? That's gotta be the oddest thing to come out of this school."

"He wasn't large with the studying," Willow admitted. "But very good with the Scoobying! He was not without talents. He just didn't apply himself, if you ask me."

"Ahh. That could explain it. Fandom: Apply or Die." Parker's lips twitched. "I think his talents get better credit here than they do outside. Where is he going, anyway? I haven't had a chance to ask."

"UC Sunnydale," Willow said. "Which isn't so bad as colleges go."

"I don't think there is a Sunnydale in my world. Where is it located in relation to your Los Angeles?"

"About two hours north," Willow said. "It's a doable drive for field trips."

Parker frowned, then her brow cleared. "Santa Barbara. If it's equivalent, you're right, it's a good school. I hope he can come back for Homecoming, though."

"It would be nice to see him again," Willow said. "Plus I bet Bridge would like that."

"More than likely." Parker sighed. "They've come a long way from Xander freaking out in here and me having to kiss him to get him to stop panicking."
