Second floor common room [Evening]

Anakin had spent most of the day ~~brooding~~ meditating and replaying the trip to Coruscant in his mind.

The thoughts it had led to had been entirely too depressing.

That's why he had migrated up to the second floor common room and commandeered the television set.

Not that the last Space Battles prequel was any less depressing, but he could keep himself entertained by mocking the terrible technology and equally terrible dialogue.

"Conversation gone wrong," she says carefully. "Nothing that won't be corrected by tomorrow. Why was yours good?"

"Conversation that went great," Jamie said trying not to bounce. "But the conversation was yesterday but it was great enough to carryover until today so it's still pretty great."

"You had a conversation worth two days?" she asks. "Congratulations."

"Thank you!" Jamie beamed. "I'm sorry your conversation wasn't great. Is there anything I can do?"

She shakes her head. "It'll fix itself. I appreciate the offer, though."

"Are you sure?" Jamie said looking concerned. "Because I can loan you a sock puppet if it would help."

"Oh, no, that's all right," she says quickly.

"Really. I have spares," Jamie said pulling one out of his pocket. "It can be very therapeutic. Would you like to talk to the sock about your feelings?"

"No, not at all. But you should feel more than free." Again, said quickly.

"But I don't have any problems at the moment," Jamie said putting the puppet on his hand. "You do. So tell Uncle Tube Sock your problem. Maybe he can help."

The sock puppet tilted its head to show that it was listening.

"I'm not talking to the sock."

The sock gave Aeryn an imploring look. "Tell me about your problems."

Aeryn rubs her temple. "Oh, for frell's sake."

"And what did this 'Frell' do to you?" the sock asked. "Did you have an argument with him?"

"Frell is not a person, Jamie, it's a... Nevermind, forget I said anything."

"Please Aeryn. I'm here to help you," the sock continued. "Pay no attention to Jamie. Now tell me about your mother."

"No," Aeryn says quickly, in a tone that she's she's not going there right now.

"Would you like a hug?" the sock asked.

"I don't hug," she answers immediately.

"Why not?" aske the sock. "Hasn't anyone taught you how?"

"I know how to, I just don't like to, Jamie," she says, very clearly not speaking to the sock. "And if you- either of- whatever- tries, there will be several of you in this room in a microt."

The sock looked up at Jamie. Jamie looked at the sock and shrugged. The sock looked back at Aeryn.

"Maybe you should sing a song. Maybe that will lighten your mood."

"No singing. None." She's very serious about this.

"You make it very hard to get into a good mood," the sock pointed out. "No singing. No hugging. What truly makes you happy? That doesn't involve... oh hurting people."

"Today? Not much."
