5th Floor Common Room, Late Monday Morning

JD was sitting on the floor in the 5th floor common room, wearing a pair of lime green pajama bottoms with little blue puppies on them and a white wife beater tank top. Crossed legged in front of the TV, he is watching cartoons and tossing a small bouncy ball repeatedly against the wall.

Agnes blinked at that quesetion. "Where I'm from, they're for other people."

"Cause you see, I kinda need a new one," Cally said. "And so far, you're kinda fitting the bill."

Is there something wrong with her other than her name? Perdita asked.

"But you don't even know me yet," Agnes said, ignoring Perdita as usual. There was also blushing and probably a small amount of flailing.

"So we can work that out and get to know each other better," Cally said. "Like, maybe, over drinks or something. Sometime this week."

This was all very new and strange, but good. Yes, this was good. "Alright, but I have two dollars. Is that enough?" Two Discworld, Ankh-Morpork dollars. "We mostly work in trade."

"No problem," Cally said. "I'll even pick up the bill. Call it a welcome to Fandom present or something."

She wasn't going to use the d word. Because using the d word would probably make Agnes magically disappear.

But then she'd be in debt to Cally. "We can work out a trade. I can mix salves and potions and poultices. I brought the books with me."

"Okay, if you insist," Cally said. "We'll figure something out, certainly. Even if it's helping me adjust the still and stuff."

"Alright. It probably won't be like Nanny's still, but you can show me how it works." Even if that sounded like another favor.

"Sounds good. So, when shall we three meet again go for the drinks?"

"Well, today's Octeday," Agnes said, thinking aloud. "I don't have any plans for the week except Saturday."

"Octeday?" Cally boggled for a second. "Erm, how does... tommorow sound?"

Of course everyone knew Octeday was the eighth day of the week. "Alright. Tomorrow. I don't know my way around yet, do you want to meet here in the dorms?"

"Sure, ummm, I'll stop by your room?" Cally offered. "About sevenish?"

Agnes nodded. "Sevenish in the evening, right?"

"Right," Cally said. "The bar isn't even open that early, I think, anyhows. If it was the morning. Which it isn't."

Why is she so nervous? asked Perdita, who had been blessedly silent for a few minutes.

"Alright. Then I think I am going to go find something to eat now."

Oh, shut up. Agnes didn't want to listen to Perdita when she was making friends and being included in things.
