Walter was cooking breakfast and making a list. So far he had a remarkable array of eggs cooked in different styles, a loaf's worth of toast, far too many sausages, and a few boxes of cereal sitting out next to a gallon of milk.

You'd think he was cooking for more than himself. While he worked, a small black puppy scampered at his feet apparently trying to stab a paper ball with a pencil held in his teeth.

The list was for Mary Poppins, who had somehow thought that he'd volunteered as her Teacher's Assistant.

Walter was willing to give thanks for Fandom weirdness and enjoy the view.

It probably slowed him down on finishing the dishes, but sometimes sacrifices must be made.

Nadia finished the clean up and stood back up, holding out a bouquet of silverware.

That's it, darlin', be mah special Valentine!

OMG, no. Fruit bat. Not-a-fruit bat!

"So, what are your plans for the day?"

Aww. No more view. Walter drew himself out of his reverie and blinked. "Work this afternoon, but I didn't have anything planned this evening. Did you have any ideas?"

"Well, I was just going to work on my adventure story. But I might be running low on ideas." Nadia grinned.

Walter grinned back and nodded. "If you think you might need some inspiration, you know I would do anything to help."

Well, almost anything, but he didn't think she'd ask for anything he'd say no to after the Cally thing.

"We have, between us, three pairs of handcuffs and quite an assortment of other . . . amusing things."

It was entirely possible that a fair bit of Walter's higher brain function decided it was a lovely time to go on holiday.

"Kicking Jamie out tonight?"

"Jamie's still staying in town. He promised to warn us before he comes back to stay."

"What time shall I meet you there?" Eager? What gives you that idea?

"Do you think anyone would cat-sit?"

Furrball mewed indignantly. //I can otherwise occupy myself. Do you think Merdebaise likes flowers?//

Nadia shrugged. "I'm open."

//Your person worries when you go for walks and she doesn't know where you are. // He thought Merdebaise was more the small butchered animal sort, actually.

"Furrball says he can keep himself busy."

Nadia gave her cat a Look. "By busy, does that mean out of trouble?"

Furrball looked indignant as only a cat can.

Walter looked at Furrball and grinned. "If I were to say 'I'll stay out of trouble,' how much would you believe me?"

He leaned closer and to murmur in her ear, "He was asking about Merdebaise. I think he likes her."

"Well, I suppose I'm glad someone does." Nadia looked over at her cat. "And he is rather hard to injure."

"I'm sure he'll be back in time for breakfast?"

//And there's fish in it for you, too.// He'd pick something up at the restaurant.

//I'm sure I can arrange it.//

"Well, he does know where he can get his food."

"Add in one bribe of fish from Cafe Fina and I think we have an arrangement. I'll see you in your room later."
