The Roof, Wednesday Evening

Dawn was on the roof, reading as the sun went down, then just standing and feeling the wind and rain kick up. She loved the wild weather and energy before a storm, and who cared if she got a little wet?

She was spinning in circles as the rain started to fall.

"Jaye as an authority figure?," Angela had to snicker at that. "What's she teaching? Is it still that business thing?"

"Introduction to American Culture in the 21st century," Marty replied. "It's for the students who aren't from our time period. And yeah, I had a good chuckle at Jaye being a TA as well."

"I wish I'd gotten something like that last fall. Now I'm all caught up," Angela said. "Not that 1996 Pittsburgh is all that far away compared to, like, Coruscant."

"Yes the culture shock was not as bad say as Alanna," Marty commented, "Plus you can use your knowledge of the future to make yourself wealthy beyond your imangination!"

Angela rolled her eyes a little. "You make it sound like I'm in that old Michael J. Fox movie with the sports almanac," she said. "Should I get a bookie?"

"Only if you feel like betting sports. I'm thinking lotto," Marty replied.

Angela frowned. "Dunno. I think that's kind of immoral. Plus I can't play lotto for a long time."

She paused. "But you're 18, so..."

"Big money baby!" Marty shouted out loud in a goofy way. "Sorry. Couldn't help myself."

Angela affectionately thwapped his arm. "Dork."

"Does that mean Peter Parker is my leige?" Marty asked thoughtfully.

Angela blinked. "Yes. Absolutely," she decided. "Wait, does that mean you have to obey him or the other way around?"

"I'd have to obey him," Marty replied. "Unless I overthrow him and replace his authority with a benevolent dictatorship."

"So you'd be what, President-for-Life Dork?," Angela asked, laughing.

Somehow, he could always cheer her up.

"Emperor Dork, thank you," Marty said briskly. "And I would rule the other dorks with great compassion and wisdom. I'd only tax them for chocolate bars."

That only had one possible answer.

She leaned in to kiss him.

Marty had a ton of clever things he could say at this moment.

But he was smart enough to shut up and kiss his girlfriend back.

Kissing was good. When they broke apart, Angela snuggled closer and put her head on his shoulder. "How come you can always cheer me up?" she asked affectionately.

"Because I'm good at it," Marty said simply as he gugged her close. "I should do it professionally."

"So your career angst is solved?" Angela asked, not letting him go.

"Depends. What kind of health insurance do you offer?" Marty said kissing her forehead.

"Only the best," Angela breathed onto his neck.

She held him very close, there on the rainy roof.
