Fourth Floor Common Room: Thursday Night

After coming back from Pizza Planet, Blair took a seat on the floor in the common room and started copying his notes for Marie. He was humming a song quietly and munching on a slice of pizza.

[oooopen!]

"I'm a fifth floor person, but hullo," Evie said, then worriedly asked, "They don't *really* give you Detention for nothing do they? Or for being in the wrong Common Room?"

"Yes, and no," Z said. "I'm a third floor person, and I'm not too worried about detention."

"Is that because they only do it sometimes, or they don't really give people Detention for no reason at all?" Evie asked, slightly relieved. She shot Jaye what would've been an angry look, but on Evie, it was more disgruntled.

"Noooo," Z said slowly. "They really do give people detention for no reason at all."

"No. Oh, no! Truly?" Evie bit her lip, and started twirling a strand of hair around her finger. "I had no idea that was even possible! I thought my last school was a bit strict, but this, this is, it's -- it's arbitrary, that's what it is," she decided. She folded herself up so her chin was resting on her knees. "Now I'm wondering about the locker that eats people."

"You mean Locker 327?"

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 05:00 am (UTC)(link)
Evie looks like she wants to cry. "Yes. That one." A huge breath of distress. "If I stand very far away from it, it can't eat me, can it? It doesn't have, say, cyclonic level magnetism, or something like that?"
multiplez: (doubtful Z)

[personal profile] multiplez 2006-09-01 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
"I don't know what that is, so probably not?"

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
"Right, then." Evie got her balance back, then looked embarassed. "Terribly sorry. Evie Carnahan. I'm a sophomore."

"Z Delgado. I'm a junior, but I'm going to be so far behind I should probably be a sophomore," she said wryly.

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 05:31 am (UTC)(link)
"Z. Zeeeee," Evie said, testing the name, then grinning. "Original. And you can't possibly be more behind than I am-- I'm ninety years into my future, right now. I was born in 1900. So I should think you'll do just fine."
multiplez: (Let's be serious.)

[personal profile] multiplez 2006-09-01 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
"Well, actually, I'm from the future. I just...missed a lot of school," Z admitted.

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 05:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, do you know Jack Harkness, then? He said he was from the 51st Century," Evie asked, looking delighted. "And well. If you need help with history, I'm more than happy to help. As long as it isn't this century, I missed most of it."

[personal profile] multiplez 2006-09-01 05:51 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, I know Jack, but I'm not from anywhere near that far in the future. Just 2021."

"Fifteen years. Still! Do we have a colony on the moon, then?" Evie asked, hopeful after the last time someone disappointed her with the answer to this question.
multiplez: (Are you for real?)

[personal profile] multiplez 2006-09-01 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
To Z, this was such a bad idea as to be funny. "Haha, no, the bad guys use it as a base way too often. We sent a colony to the Lost Galaxy, though!"

[identity profile] bookyeve.livejournal.com 2006-09-01 06:00 am (UTC)(link)
"Bad guys, oh, no. First the environment, now bad guys." Evie scribbled more notes, looking worried. "And the Lost Galaxy? Is that *very* far away?"

"It's hard to tell, because that whole season was on drugs Not as far as you'd think, really. I mean, sure, another galaxy and all, but they visit us and we visit them all the darn time."
