4th Floor Common Room, After Classes

It's been a while since Isabel felt like cooking for the masses, but the first day of school seems like reason enough. After Interstellar Relations, she made a quick handwaved trip to town to pick up supplies. Now the music is playing and she's making chicken parm and pasta for whoever wants it.

[Free food! Do I have to say it? Open!!!! Now in the right spot.]

Angela winced, there were way too many dead people in Luke's world. "At least there are people here who could probably help you," she said. "So you didn't grow up using it?"

Luke shook his head. "The Empire destroyed the Jedi," he said. "I didn't even know my father was one until about a week ago."

"Your mom didn't talk about him?," Angela asked. She sighed. "I didn't like the Jedi's whole no-attachments thing -- mean, philosophically, not that it really mattered what I thought -- but that world was the most important thing to him. It's sad if it's gone."

"I was raised by my aunt and uncle," Luke explained. "I don't even know my mother's name."

Fun guy to chat with, huh?

Angela blinked in surprise. "I'm sorry," she said again, not sure what else to say. She wondered if Luke's mom was a Jedi too, but if he didn't even know her name, he probably wouldn't know that.

And then she suddenly found her spaghetti absolutely fascinating. "Isabel's a good cook," she said. Not that she would randomly change the subject, or anything.

"She is," Luke said, nodding a little more enthusiastically than necessary. "I can't cook at all."

"I can a little," Angela said. "My dad's a chef so he taught me some stuff. But I'm not great at it or anything."

"I've burnt water," Luke admitted. "I just...got distracted by other things. Aunt Beru threw me out of the kitchen and wouldn't let me try again."
