Thanks to a laundry...incident, Dawn was wearing the t-shirt she'd borrowed from Dean after the Meerkat cabin theft, which was way too long for her, and the skirt she'd stolen borrowed from Buffy before she left Cleveland, which was way too short. Not unlike Buffy, come to think of it.

Just so people would think it was intentional, though, she put up a small sign, hastily written on notebook paper and stuck to the door of the common room.

In other news, she was trying to learn her domesticated canine vocabulary for class on Monday.

"You could argue that shorts aren't pants therefore should be excluded?" Peter offered.

"Thank you, I might try that if it comes down to it," Isabel said. "But how have you been? I haven't seen you in a while."

"Other than an unforunate attack of Fandomitis last weekend, I've been well," Peter replied. "Though it seems like very few people are this week. How have you been?"

"Did I hear something about a pony?" she giggled. "Somehow it suits you though." Her face sobered and she shrugged. "Like a lot of other people I could have done without the news we got."

"A very, very small pony, yes," Peter said. "I was told I was cute." He paused. "In all honesty, I have no idea what news it was that we got. My mun keeps having RL issues I've been too focused on starting classes all week. And trying not to kill Seely."

"If there are pictures? I want to see them. And I've heard interesting things about Seely. He annoyed Parker and lived. That's actually impressive."

Isabel sighed and looked down. "There's a new student this Fall. His name is Luke, Luke Skywalker. He's Anakin's son. He said his father was murdered before he was born."

"He also insulted Willow, lied about it, and ended with me punching him in the middle of CJ," Peter said.

"Oh." Peter said. "But he was here last week." He shook his head. "I'm sure he was doing his duty."

Isabel raised an eyebrow, "He sounds perfectly charming."

"It's another one of those wacky Fandom timeline things," she said. "I'm sure you're familiar with them. And I'm sure he was. But it doesn't make it any easier to hear."

"Oh yes, terribly," Peter said, with a frown.

"No, it doesn't. Though it is an epitaph that I think he would have been proud of."

"Yeah, that's what I keep telling myself. Of course it doesn't help that the man, the thing, that killed him is teaching this semester's Ethics class," Isabel said with just a touch of bitterness.

Peter looked down. "If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew/to serve your turn long after they are gone."

"A bit of knightly wisdom?"

"No, just a poem," Peter said, shaking his head. "by Kipling. The Ethics teacher killed Anakin and now is teaching here? As you do after you kill a Jedi?"

"Ah, I'll have to read it then." Isabel smiled but there was no joy in it. "Apparently. Although I shouldn't be surprised. Last fall they had a psychotic vampire teaching psychology."

Peter just continued shaking his head in disbelief. "You said Anakin's son is here?" He was a boy and a King and couldn't help from keeping the note of awe at that out of his voice. "Does he know about the Ethics teacher? Is he going to try to do something?"

"He is. His name is Luke and he's eighteen. Which means that we only said goodbye to Anakin last week, yet in his world at least eighteen years have gone by." She shook her head, "Sometimes I think I need a scorecard to keep track of the timelines. But he does know about Vader, he's the one that told me. I don't think he's planning on doing anything. Vader appears to be very powerful. Luke's just a guy. He doesn't even have any of the training Anakin did." Isabel laughed softly, "Hell, he asked me to help him learn to float things around. Talk about ironic, his father was helping me."

"Anakin has a son," Peter repeated before paying strict attention to what Isabel was saying. "It is ironic, but I think he would have approved." Peter smiled humourlessly. "I suppose he came to the best place possible other than the Jedi Temple if he needs training in what Anakin knew."

"Yeah, it boggles my mind when I think about it. But I'm glad," she said quietly. "He's living on in a way. As for training, I think there are lots of people around that would be willing to help."

Peter nodded sharply. "Absolutely there are."
