Thanks to a laundry...incident, Dawn was wearing the t-shirt she'd borrowed from Dean after the Meerkat cabin theft, which was way too long for her, and the skirt she'd stolen borrowed from Buffy before she left Cleveland, which was way too short. Not unlike Buffy, come to think of it.

Just so people would think it was intentional, though, she put up a small sign, hastily written on notebook paper and stuck to the door of the common room.

In other news, she was trying to learn her domesticated canine vocabulary for class on Monday.

Dawn meeped. Yeah, her career as an international woman of mystery was sooooooo blown out of the water before it got started. She nodded, blushing again.

Sam smiled at the blushing. "If it makes you feel any better, you have the same kind of effect on me."

"That makes me feel whole lots better, actually," she beamed at Sam and tried not to be too gleeful and bouncy, because hi, dork alert. She needed to be suave and sophisticated. She let out a giggle and almost facepalmed. Soooo not happening. "Really since the second day?"

"Yeah," he admitted. "Right from the start, you were smart and sweet and didn't make fun of me for putting up protections in the room. It wasn't that difficult."

"Right. Your allergies." Dawn continued giggling. "And I still can't believe I had to tell you about my deep and abiding fear of goths just so you wouldn't invite vampires into the room."

"I don't actually need to worry about you and goths, right? Vampires are really the only threat?"

"Vampires, demons, letterman's jackets, hell goddesses, my sister's best friend, math tests, singing," she counted off on her fingers, then nodded. "I think that's it. Oh, and kidnapping. I get taken a lot."

"Well, I'm not going to let that happen. The kidnapping, I mean," Sam replied seriously. "I'm afraid I can't protect you against math tests or singing."

"Don't worry about the actual kidnapping," Dawn explained, an old hand at this by now, "just make sure you get me back and that you don't get hurt or killed during the rescue. Really, you should be more worried about the letterman's jacket. I made a really, really, really bad cheerleader. All those genes went to Buffy."

She grinned. "And I'm not taking math. Yay!"

"Okay, I'll stay away from letterman's jackets then," he said, laughing softly. "Even if you would make a cute cheerleader."

"I don't," Dawn said bluntly. "It was humiliating and embarrassing and is one of the many, many reasons I'm glad I'm here now, where no one knows the story. Er, except you, since I just told you."

Sam gave Dawn a sympathetic look, before faking confusion. "What story? Something about you cheerleading? I have no idea what you're talking about. I've never heard a story like that."

Dawn grinned at Sam with relief. "Yay." She stepped forward to kiss him thank you on the cheek, but stopped herself before she rose on tiptoe. "Demon hunting's probably not as embarrassing for you and Dean."

"No, it doesn't usually get embarrassing, thank goodness," Sam replied. "I find more than enough ways to embarrass myself outside of hunting."

"Really? I must have missed that."

"You're either being sarcastic, or very very nice," he teased.

"Let's go with nice, because I haven't seen anything embarrassing."

"How about my little radio embarrassment yesterday? And the talent show, where 'Johnina' and friends sang me a song? Trust me, there's a lot more where that came from."

"The radio was kinda...sweet," Dawn decided, suddenly very happy Sam apparently hadn't heard her own stint of broadcasting stupidity, "and the song, well," she started giggling again, "you were a really good sport about that. And I have two words for you. Fashion. Show."

Sam got a very big grin on his face as he remembered the fashion show. It was kind of nice to not have to hide that sort of thing anymore. "You were great in the Fashion Show."

"Thanks. You're such a boy, though," Dawn blushed yet again and didn't glee internally at all. "I can't believe I wore that out in public. In front of people and everything! Sooooooooo embarrassing."

"It would only have been embarrassing if you hadn't been able to pull the outfit off," Sam argued. "And you did. Completely. Trust me."

"I'll um.....hmmm." She ducked her head, grinning. "You know I didn't keep it, right?"

"That's okay," Sam said, grinning. "I'm pretty sure the image will stay with me for a while."
