Fifth Floor Common Room, Sunday Afternoon

Bel had learned about football last fall. Now he was pleased it was football season once again. So he'd taken over the fifth floor common room and was camped out with snacks and drinks to watch the games that afternoon. Right now it was the New England Patriots versus the New York Jets.

He picked the Patriots to root for. No reason.

"Oh, it's Ani's turtle?" Cally smiled. "Guess it's sort of a weird Fandom inheritance."

"Annie?" Luke repeated. "Really?"

"He hated being called that," Cally said, smiling. "So I kinda did that a lot."

"You'd be amazed," Cally said. "He was kinda cute when he was scowly. Erm, even though I'm sure that sounds kinda weird for... I hate time travel."

"I never knew him," Luke said with a small shrug, "so it doesn't bother me. Hearing that people thought that Ben Kenobi was good looking, on the other hand..." Luke scrunched up his face. "Ew."

"Yeah, still hating time travel," Cally said. "Well if it's any consolation? I don't think I met Ben Kenobi, so I totally can't say I thought he was good looking."

"Parker was pretty gleeful about telling me," Luke said. "I think she was hoping my head would pop off or something."

"Guh," Cally said. "That sounds like something Parker'd do. But hey, you're head is still all attached, so I guess it didn't work."

"Or I founds some really good glue," Luke offered with a small smile.

Cally peered to see if she could see any detachable head lines.

"Or it's springloaded, like those little plastic boxing robots."

Luke blinked. "That's an image that'll haunt me for a while."

"Eep, sorry," Cally said. "Was just trying to make a joke."

Luke smiled. "No lasting harm done," he promised.

"Good. I made a promise to not break any of the new people."

"There's promises about that?"

"Well, it's kinda weird here, you know? And I didn't want to be part of people getting all flustered and confused and stuff."

"I caused most of my own fluster and confusion," Luke admitted. He paused. "Any reason why Parker would tell me not to jump off the roof? Other than the obvious stupidity involved?"

Luke smiled, reassured. "Just wanted to make sure I didn't make people think I looked stupid enough to, you know, jump off the roof."
