Salle [after classes]

Luke walked into the salle, his father's lightsaber clutched in his right hand and his eyes bright.

Peter was going to show him some of the forms that the Jedi used.

After spending the morning learning about some of the history of the Order, Luke was more than ready for the lesson.

He was also pretty sure he couldn't get more excited.

He paced around the room, waiting for Peter to arrive.

Shortly thereafter, Peter arrived at the salle carrying, very carefully, a laptop bag.

"Afternoon, Luke," he said with a smile.

Peter grinned. "You look excited. How goes it?"

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-10-05 07:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"Brilliant," Peter replied, impressed. "I certainly believe it from the little I saw. Where did you find the books?"

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-10-05 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Peter nodded. "You do indeed. But I don't think it would be asked of you if you couldn't live up to it."

"As best I can," Peter replied. "I also asked the Principal if she had some tapes from when Anakin was practicing in here. The videos are on the laptop if you'd like to see now or after training."

Not really expecting any other answer, Peter had already started opening the laptop. Pausing for a moment to remember how exactly, he was supposed to start the disc playing, he set the laptop on the table that usually held towels and such.

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-10-05 08:59 pm (UTC)(link)
Peter nodded. "Rather amazing, isn't it."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-10-05 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm sure you'll avoid that much," Peter said, seemingly completely confident. He went over the weapons locker to pull his sword out. "The forms aren't made for my type of weapon obviously, but I can demonstrate with it at least." He belted his sword on carefully. "Were you being literal when you said you hadn't gone far beyond 'don't poke a hole in the ship?'"

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-10-05 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Peter chuckled shortly. "Oh, well, he certainly had 'reassuring' down, didn't he."

"Right then," he said, taking the starting position of the first form, sword pointed at a 45 degree angle towards the ground. "This is the starting point of Form One - Shii-Cho."

Peter nodded and began to slowly move through the form, waiting for Luke to follow the movements. "I was told they learned this form first. It's a defence oriented form which rather makes sense."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-10-05 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
"It was what your father was doing when he first started training," Peter replied.

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-10-05 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Peter nodded. "The form he said he favoured was this one though." And Peter finished Form One and moved smoothly into Form Five."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-10-05 10:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"Not at all," Peter replied, grinning. "Though the term 'aggressive defence' was used. He said the Jedi never attacked."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-10-06 12:53 am (UTC)(link)
Peter continued to the end of the form. "I don't think I could be that disciplined. I'm just a knight."

He watched Luke for a few beats. "You move like him."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-10-06 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
"Little bit, yes," Peter replied, smiling. "Probably more and more as you train more and get better."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-10-06 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
Peter grinned at Luke. "I know the feeling. He was very, very good. Everyone's probably already told you that though."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-10-06 06:21 am (UTC)(link)
"The disc in the computer is yours too," Peter said, smiling warmly back. "So you can watch him as much as you like."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-10-06 06:47 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm entirely convinced she'll understand," Peter replied.

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-10-06 04:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Peter watched carefully, nodding. "You definitely have the feel for the weapon. Focus on the movements for now - completing each one fully and sliding into the next before worrying about speed."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-10-06 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
"Exactly. Once you can feel each movement perfectly, you can speed them up without losing the effectiveness - or tripping over your sword," Peter said, following through the form again himself.

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-10-06 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
"Just a bit," Peter said dryly. "Anakin had four or five training remotes when he was here. Maybe Aeryn or Rory would know if he took them all back with him?"
