Second Floor CR, Friday Evening

For Friday the thirteenth, Zero had decided to have an impromptu scary movie marathon. She set up an array of snacks, including popcorn, pizza, soda, and candy, and stacked her DVD offerings on the coffee table.

Zero decided to start with that perennial classic, A Bunch of Losers Arguing Over Who Gets To Be Zero. It was her favorite.

"Hey Zero," Bridge grabs a slice of pizza. "What's playing?"

"Hey, Bridge. Right now, it's A Bunch of Losers Arguing Over Who Gets To Be Zero. Don' know what we'll watch next." She gestured to the stack of DVDs.

"Why are they arguing about who gets to be you? Is this some weird new reality show or something?" Bridge asks, confused.

"Hee, no, they're not arguin' over who gets to be me. They're arguin' over who gets to be zero. See, the guy who's zero doesn't get eaten, but everyone else gets eaten in numerical order."

"Ooh," Bridge nods in understanding. "Small-z zero, not capital-Z Zero, got it."

"Right. Like how 'London Bridge' isn't about you goin' to England."

"Okaa- whoa is that the thing that's gonna eat them? Gah," Bridge makes a face.

"Yeah. S'kinda gross, innit?" Zero sounded delighted.

"Just a little," Bridge says, snickering at Zero's obvious amusement.

Parker waved to Bridge when she came in, then offered him popcorn from her perch on the back of the sofa. "Buttery carbohydrate goodness?"

"Buttery?" Bridge echoes. Yes, fingerwiggle included. "Of course." He grabs a handful.

Parker giggled. "That never gets less cute." Contentedly, she took another handful for herself. "What's your favorite horror flick that hasn't been made yet? One from the future?"

"Um." Bridge says, somewhat embarassed. "I didn't watch a lot of movies or TV, growing up. So I kind of don't really have one."

"Hunh." Parker cocked her head, looking curious. "Horror movie, or any movies?"

"Well, the Space Battles movies are pretty good. If you ignore the acting."

"And the dialogue," Parker pointed out with a grin. "But, yeah. We watched some of them in London--" She suddenly remembered that Xander had been there, watching along and admiring the princess in the bikini and the older Jedi guy at the same time. "--and they were great," she added, her voice more subdued.

"If nothing else, it's interesting to see how people of the past thought that an intergalactic culture would be like."
