Fifth floor common room, Sunday evening

Nadia was doing a lot more staring vaguely at the television than she was actually watching whatever was on it. She'd cocooned herself in her wool poncho after discovering that it was actually getting a bit too cold to sit on the roof for a long time playing her guitar, which sucked, and finding things to distract her from thinking about, well, things, wasn't working terribly well.

The dorms were pretty quiet today. She was considering doing something to shake that up, but . . . apathy was winning. So staring vaguely at the television was the name of the game right now.

[ooc: it's a common room. I'm not sure if it actually has doors that close. Thusly, it is open.]

"No I mean like... Some tribes have rain dances... We should see if there's a Warm Weather Dance."

"Wouldn't that, like, throw off the weather patterns of the planet and cause chaos?"

"Nadia, we live on an island in the ocean off the shore of a landlocked city. How much chaos could we possibly cause?"

". . . Okay, that's a good point. Still, it seems . . . wrong, somehow."

"Well, it never hurts to ask. That's all a weather dance is. It's like saying, 'Hey, could we please have some warmth?' or whatever you want."

"Oh. That's cool. Who are you asking, though?"

Pippi shrugged.

"Whoever does the weather where you are."

"What, like Sir August DeWinter?"

". . . Ah. Well, I guess it'd be worth a shot."

"Right, now... What kind of dance should we do? It can't be the Schottishe, they'd think we wanted rain."

"Maybe that Hawaiian dance? The hoolass?"

"Oh! The Hoolass is a great idea!"

"Since Hawaii is really warm, anyway. Do you think we'll need grass skirts?"

"Ya, but we can get those easy."

Nadia nodded. "We just need to decide where and when to do it, then."

"In the park? Some time during the week? So the weather can be nice for parent's weekend?"

Not that Nadia had any parents coming to town. "Sure."

Neither did Pippi. As far as she knew. Which was why she wanted the weather to be nice.

"Any day in particular good for you?"

"Maybe after Dance class on Thursday? We'll be nice and warmed up, body-wise, then."

"Good idea! Mebbe we could get extra credit!"
