The mats are out, the cd player is ready to play should music be needed, and cheerleaders are sitting behind a table ready to judge. Although as this is, of course, a cheerocracy, not a democracy, Buffy has final word.

There's bleachers for the audience and representatives of the press (the nuts are for the squirrels, not the newspaper journalists. They get coffee). This will be an afternoon of short skirts, cartwheels and above all CHEER!

(ooc: because I am late posting this, tryouts will continue in slowplay on Monday as well. Come try-out! Mock! Cheer!)

Lana took a seat behind the table.

Molly was there and ready to judge.

Buffy is here to judge in between making her cheerleading competition choices final.

Pippi isn't sure she's qualified to judge, but she can BS with authority so...

Jake was sitting on the bleachers, cradling a cup of coffee in one hand, balancing his sketchbook on his knees and holding a pencil in his other hand. Cheerleaders with tiny skirts! It was a situation made for sketching, truly.

Alanna walked into the gym, hoping to get to punch the punching bag a lot. "Um...?"

"Great! Hi! You're the first to try-out today!" Buffy chirped. "But don't let that make you nervous!" She waved for the music to start.

Alanna blinked. "Um...what?"

"Really! No need to be nervous," Buffy said encuragingly. "Just cheer the best you can!"

"Cheer?" Alanna blinked a few more times and suddenly her eyes popped. "No! No no no no! I don't cheer. Beat things up, yes. Cheer, no."

Krycek was there with Jake, more to keep an eye on Jake and the sketching than the cheerleaders - though that was a definite bonus.

Buffy didn't seem to hear her. "I'll help you along," she said and raised her arms. "READY? OKAY! GO! GREMLINS! GO!" She lowered her voice to normal speaking again. "Now you!"

The chances of Alanna escaping without at least a small cheer? Very slim.

Alec was totally there to ogle girls in short skirts.

Yes, that was an eep that escaped Alanna's lips. "N. O. Can I get to the punching bag now?"

"Not until you've cheered," Buffy said firmly.

"Is that Dean or Alec being a cheerleader?" Jake squinted.

Alanna gave Buffy a very dirty look, then poked her bag. A loud yawn came from it and it shifted a bit. Satisifed that her cat was asleep Alanna rolled her eyes. "Go Gremlins ra ra ra ra whatever." There was a lot of enthusiasm there, really.

Buffy beamed and clapped. "Well done!"

Alanna didn't tell Buffy to go somewhere nice and pleasant, really. Nor did she shoot her any dark looks. What she did say was "Can I get to the bloody punching bag now?"

He shrugged slightly, peering in the direction of the judging table. "I'm not sure. I haven't met Alec yet, but Dean didn't seem the cheerleading type."

"Absolutely! We'll let you know if you made the team some time next week." Buffy smiled brightly.
