the Gym, afternoon, Cheerleader Try outs!

The mats are out, the cd player is ready to play should music be needed, and cheerleaders are sitting behind a table ready to judge. Although as this is, of course, a cheerocracy, not a democracy, Buffy has final word.

There's bleachers for the audience and representatives of the press (the nuts are for the squirrels, not the newspaper journalists. They get coffee). This will be an afternoon of short skirts, cartwheels and above all CHEER!

(ooc: because I am late posting this, tryouts will continue in slowplay on Monday as well. Come try-out! Mock! Cheer!)

Jake was sitting on the bleachers, cradling a cup of coffee in one hand, balancing his sketchbook on his knees and holding a pencil in his other hand. Cheerleaders with tiny skirts! It was a situation made for sketching, truly.

Krycek was there with Jake, more to keep an eye on Jake and the sketching than the cheerleaders - though that was a definite bonus.

"Is that Dean or Alec being a cheerleader?" Jake squinted.

He shrugged slightly, peering in the direction of the judging table. "I'm not sure. I haven't met Alec yet, but Dean didn't seem the cheerleading type."

"He really didn't," Jake agreed. "Alec is the one we got photos of, right?" And then he gave Krycek a fond look of 'my boyfriend is much prettier, ha'.

Krycek smirked rather smugly and nodded. "Yeah, I think so. And if he's that shameless normally, I'd say that's probably him in the short-shorts."

"Ah. That's a good point." He frowned down at the cheerleaders. "I think the little blonde is in charge. She certainly has a lot of pep."

"That's Buffy, isn't it?" Krycek watched her a moment. "Not the same Buffy who was here before, but I think that's her, or someone who looks just like her."

Jake gave him a blank look. "She's been here before? I'm almost sure we didn't have cheerleaders before we went on vacation..." And this reminded him... "Oh, and dad called. He can't make it for Parents Weekend."

"He can't? That's a shame," Krycek said brusquely. "And that Buffy wasn't a cheerleader, I don't think. I could be wrong."

"Business," Jake explained, and pouted a little, before he was distracted by tiny skirts again. "I don't think I've ever seen cheerleaders without some kind of team to cheer for before. Granted, I haven't actually seen that many cheerleaders before... Football cheerleaders tend to be very male, noisy and wearing scarves."

"Football-- Oh, that type of football," Krycek said, realizing. "I heard we had a basketball team over the summer, but the season's over now. I guess the cheerleaders are having too much fun to disband." He smirked. "Not that anyone's complaining, I don't think."

"I certainly am not," Jake said appreciatively, then winced. "Oh god, I think I'm blind. I just ogled Molly."

Krycek grimaced. "It's not as though she's ugly," he said, placatingly. "She looks good in that skirt. But I agree."

"She's little, and it's like ogling my cousin, or something." Jake shuddered. "It shouldn't be done."
