4th Floor Common Room: Sunday night

Lana dropped off her stuff in her - Jim's - room and made sure she was ready for work and class tomorrow. But then she just couldn't stay in the room alone so she headed for the fourth floor common room.

She made microwave popcorn and hot chocolate, enough to share if anyone were to drop in as well, then settled herself on the couch to watch TV.

Conner was feeling up to a little bit of socialization tonight, hoping it'd be a more pleasant experience than his Saturday had been. After unpacking, he went in search of an open common room.

Thankfully, he didn't have to wander too far.

"Hey, Lana. Have a better trip than I did?"

"It was okay," Lana said noncommitally. "We did have some handwavy and as yet undefined fun last night, but I really wasn't in the right frame of mind to appreciate the trip as much as I would have liked."

She smiled a little ruefully at him. "Not a good trip at all for you, I take it?"

"Most of it was fine," Conner admitted. "The food was great, the hotel was amazing, I was having fun. Up until those two Japanese guys won all my money in one hand of poker."

He tilted his head and looked at her thoughtfully. "You at least had some fun though, so it wasn't a bad trip, right?"

"Ouch," Lana said. "That's tough."

She smiled a little, "No, not a bad trip at all. As you said, the food, the rooms, the shows... And flying first class was pretty amazing."

"Tell me about it!" Conner exclaimed. "I've never done that before. Okay, so the only time I've ever flown before was when I came out here, but wow. First class is sweet. And Wilson and Mister Phale let us have most of the time to ourselves? Never would've had a field trip like this at my old school."

"I've only ever flown coming back and forth here," Lana said, "but that was on a private plane so it was quite different. But yeah, nothing like this back home. They bussed us into Metropolis a few times, but we were with the teachers every second. This was amazing."

"Not exactly the kind of trip you write home about, though, is it?" asked Conner, scrunching up his face. "Not without serious editing, anyway."

Popcorn was one of those things that can be detected from down the hall, and where there's popcorn, there's people.

So Mac wandered into the common room, along with a mug for coffee and a blanket so she can curl up happily, watch TV and have company.

"Hey, Mac," Lana said. "Popcorn? Hot chocolate?"

"Coffee," Mac said holding up her mug with a smile as she made her way over to the coffeemaker. She decides not to go through the whole vegan, not vegan thing again. "You have a good weekend?" she asked as she poked at it in the hope it would give her caffeine.

"It was really nice," Lana said. "The hotel was amazing. I didn't want to leave our room."

Mac grinned, finally getting some luck with her coffee. "Ooh, do tell. I saw the bus, and that was pretty flashy, I'm trying to imagine how nice the rooms must've been."

"The beds were canopied and the most comfortable things ever. And the bathroom! Huge tub, plush robes to wear, gorgeous view of the city from the window... It was amazing." Lana looked a little dreamy remembering it all.

Naomi was bored and after handwavily calling her mom back home she wandered into the fourth floor common room, "hi," she said.

"Hi, come on in. Plenty of popcorn and hot chocolate," Lana said welcomingly.

"Thanks," Naomi said as she got some popcorn and hot chocolate.

"How's it going?" Lana asked.

"Not bad," Naomi replied, "just called home to mom so I'm now looking for something to do between now and classes tomorrow, how about yourself?"

"Pretty much the same here," Lana said. "I just didn't feel like being alone in my room."

After helping out in Parker's room, Willow went upstairs with the intent to go to her room.

Then she smelled popcorn. "Lana, hey! How's it going?"

"Hey, Willow," Lana said with a smile. It's going well. Plus,look! Popcorn and hot chocolate. Always good."

"It combines both salty and sweet," Willow agreed. "Which are two of my favorite food groups. Watching anything good?"

Lana shrugged. "I'd just sat down and started flipping channels. I have no idea what's usually on on Sunday nights. Anything you particularly like? I'm not picky."

"I think Sundays are usually reality TV," Willow said. "Unless you have a good cable connection?"

"Reality TV, right." Lana sighed. "Probably why I don't watch much on Sundays. There have to be some movies on, though. I'm not sure what kind of cable connection we have, but there do seem to be a ton of channels."
