Fifth floor common room, Tuesday evening

After the buzz of yesterday, Nadia was feeling a bit gloomy again. She'd managed to get herself some soup without too much "I can only use one arm!" trauma, and that, combined with some hot chocolate, was working wonders for her ability to pretend it wasn't effin' freezing outside.

Her shoulder was aching again, though, and as she sat on the couch with the TV on quietly in the background, she went over what she could remember of the troll battle, trying to figure out where things had gone square shaped.

"A troll kinda used me as a frisbee. Dislocated it. Again."

Naomi winced at that, "it's happened before?"

"The arm dislocating. Not the troll frisbee."

"Yeah the troll frisbee thing is pretty much a once in a lifetime occasion, at least I think it is,"

"I really, really, really, really hope so."

"How long are you going to be in the brace?" Naomi asked

"Two weeks. Then I have to go back for x-rays to make sure it's healing properly."

"Well I hope it gets better,"

"Thanks. So do I. You're okay now, right?"

"Yeah," Naomi nodded, "I can't wait to go back to class,"

Nadia smiled slightly. "I definitely know that feeling. I dragged myself to class when I could barely walk, just to get out of that clinic."

"I've never liked sickbay or anything like that," Naomi said, "so hopefully I won't have to go back there for a while because I don't want to miss any more classes,"

"Almost finals time."

"Yeah I've pretty much been preparing for them all semester," because Naomi was a geek like that, "I haven't sat for a proper exam before,"

"You probably won't find any of those around here."

"After what I've experienced this semester I'm not that surprised,"

"Which classes are you taking?"

"Interstellar Relations, Cross Species Communications, Literature in Action, US Government and Science!" Naomi replied.

Nadia smiled. "Sounds like a good set of classes for a half-alien. Good choices."

"Yeah I'm enjoying them," Naomi replied, also smiling, "what classes are you taking this semester?"

"Prophesy, music, religion, dance, and Constant Vigilance."

"What are those classes like?"

[nadiathesaint]

"Hectic, odd, and taught by weirdos. But that's pretty much every class at this school, and it does keep things interesting."

"It seems to be that way, of course I've only been home schooled before so I can't really compare,"

[nadiathesaint]

"Only other school I've gone to was either in an orphanage or training camp for government agents. So I don't really have anything to compare it to, either."
