Outside of hunting class: 7th Period

Blair was carrying both a sign and a petition today and he was very happy that to have his cast off for this sort of protest day. Marching back and forth before the door he chanted the message on his sign. "Education for everybody! Support the male troll scholarship!"

Every once in a while he would yell out; "Hunting sucks!" Just in case there was a rule about protesting random things in front of hunting class.

"Bel counts." Blair said, still a little thrown off by Bel's behavior earlier. "Plus Angel probably counts in someone's book."

"I know, I'm not discreditting Bel, by any means," Setsuna said. "I'm merely pointing out the fact that, how can you really claim to have close friendship with demons when you know all of one, possibly two?" Three, she added in her head.

Blair rolled his eyes. "I didn't say lay off demons in general. I said lay off my demon friends. Which would be the friends of mine who are demons. If someone was making a crack about Japanese girls and I said lay off my Japenese friends; I would be talking about you...not the entire population of Japan."

"Because, yes, a single individual should be representative of an entire population." Setsuna, too, rolled her eyes. "I would hope that, in my references to demons, you understand that I do not mean Bel, because it is quite obvious that Bel is an exception. He is certainly not a norm, Blair. And, with the way you defend demons, you act as if you've had significantly more exposure and knowledge of them beyond what little you actually have, so my comment was more of a critique of your lack of demon friends, rather than a comment on any actual existing demon friends."

"Fine. Blair doesn't have any real demon friends." Blair mocked, waving his protest sign around. "I'm not sure why it comes to this point everytime that we talk. I think I just need to go out and find a bunch of demons to befriend so that you'll drop that point!"

"Yeah, I could drop the point because you'd wind up dead if you tried," Setsuna said, sharply, almost crossly. "Blair, the reason it always comes around to this point is because it's something that I know a lot about, and I see you approaching it with a niave attitude that could actually potentially be harmful to you if you believe it too fullly. It bothers me, significantly, that you let yourself be convinced that your simple human morality is a morality follwed by everything. But it's not."

"So all this..." Blair waved his sign again. "...is just you being concerned about me?"

"I'm not saying that my beliefs are something that everyone should have. I'm saying that everyone deserves to have their own...even if it doesn't agree with mine. Which includes demons."

"Well," Setsuna frowned, seeming to struggle a bit. "Concern in the driving force, yes. I worry that, in your need to express that everyone should have their own beliefs, you'll forget that, sometimes, someone else's beliefs don't care about yours, and trouble comes from that. But there....there's more to it. It...it's really hard to explain..."

Blair leaned back against the wall. "Go ahead, try me."

Drawing in a deep breath, Setsuna looked at Blair, considering. "Do you really want to know why it bothers me so much, Blair?"

"Yes." Blair said, giving a quick nod.

The breath released slowly, and Setsuna gave a small nod. After all the difficulty she had been giving him, she felt almost as if Blair deserved to know this. And it wasn't like he wasn't sympathetic to the cause; he would understand. She could almost see him becoming a much-needed pillar of support, having seen how he responded to Bel...

"It is really not something to be discussed in a hallways. Do you suppose you could come by my room tomorrow after classes, and we can discuss it over tea, behind closed doors, where it belongs? I'd make it earlier, but I've already agreed to accompany Jude to get his skateboard fixed that afternoon."

"Uh...sure?" Blair said, although he was giving Setsuna the look of 'you might be a crazyhead person'.

Due to the sensitive nature of the topic, Setsuna definately picked up on the look. And did not appriciate it one bit. "If you're not going to take me seriously on the matter," she said sharply, "you can just forget about it."

"Whoa." Blair blinked. "I am taking you seriously. It's just you're doing some kind of weird 'I'm a secret spy' sort of thing."

Which caused Setsuna to blink right back. "Uh, Blair? You do know that I've been a spy for most of my life, right...?"

She thought everyone knew.

"No." Blair shook his head. "Can people start wearing t-shirts that tell what special skills they have?"

"...There really aren't t-shirts big enough for some of us, I imagine," Setsuna said with a little sigh. "Point is, I'm sorry if I seem 'weird secret spy' about it, but I probably don't even realize I'm doing it. However, that doesnt' change the fact that this is something really important, something....that I keep really well guarded. But, if you are serious about wanting to understanding me and why I respond to all this the way I do, then I want you to know..."

"Okay." Blair nodded seriously. "I'll be there tomorrow."

Setsuna, too, nodded. "All right. Do you perfer green tea, or black?"

"Green is fine with me." Blair said with a smile. "Anything I can bring?"

Setsuna returned the smile softly. There was reluctance in it, as she realized that she'd just agreed to reveal her secret to yet another person, not even someone she knew very well, but she reminded herself that it would be okay with Blair. "If you'd like, but don't feel it's necissary."
