Monday Late Afternoon - Evening - Fifth Floor Common Room

Following his and Isabel's plans made yesterday, Peter had stopped by J,GOB after Interstellar Relations to pick up a metric ton of coffee, doughnuts, bagels, and assorted other pastries. 

Getting them back to the Common Room was easy, but trying to corral all the books in the Common Room into a cabinet so they wouldn't knock over the coffee was much more difficult.

However he managed to do so and thus there was a table set up with coffee, tea, doughnuts, and pastries.  A sign said "Happy Studying and Good Luck on your Finals from Student Council."  There was an addendum added in pen "Watch out for books!"

Peter was drinking tea and studying his Hunting notes nearby.

After applying eyedrops, Billy flopped down on the couch with his notebook, which seemed to have resisted the hostility plauging regular books. "Figures they'd choose finals week to attack people." he said.

Peter looked up from muttering Latin exorcisms to himself and grinned. "Just adds that bit of spice Finals week needed."

Buffy came in with her notebook and a pile of gifts. She sat down in a chair, and began to study, while waiting for any of her victims recipients to arrive.

Cally wandered into the common room, now nursing a minor black eye, grumbling.

She'd gone back in her room after the Interstellar final to get her notes for Humor and Medicine. And apparently the complete works of HP Lovecraft had taken offense, and flown right in her face.

So now, she had notes, a minor injury, and a lack of patience with flying books.

Peter nodded to her. "Have you had to slay any books yet, Buffy?"

Peter smiled at Cally then stopped and looked at her. "Are you alright? You weren't hurt in class!"

"This is what I get for liking big thick books," Cally said. "Took one right in the eye."

"Nope!" Buffy gave him a cheerful grin. "I knew finding books boring would pay off one day!"

Jaye wanders up for the food, but when she sees the sign, she says, "Studying?"

No, it hasn't occurred to her that she needs to do this.

Cally waved at Jaye, and pointed at her notebook. "Studying. As in the thing you do to make sure you don't fail out." She smiled, book-induced black eye and all.

Peter got up to rummage in the freezer than offered Cally a bag of frozen peas. "That might help a bit. It looks pretty nasty." He grinned. "And let this be a lesson to you about liking the books with less than 300 pages."

Jaye frowns and says, "I think you're studying wrong."

"Very wise, you are," he agreed with a laugh. "Coffee?"

"I have a newfound love for the novelette," Cally said, taking the peas. "It's not that bad, really. It's not even that sore."

"So they tell me," Peter replied with a sigh.

Cally shrugged. "Cramming is what I do," she said. "That way, you don't have to worry about retaining the useless knowledge beyond the test."

Buffy flailed eagerly in Jaye's direction. "BFF! Come get your present!"

Molly came in dragging a very reluctant book tied up with string. "Oh, yay! Free food," she said and tugged the straining book along.

Alec was lured by the scent of sugar and pastries, and then loaded up on several of each kind available before he found a seat. "Finals are this week?"

"Yes, please," Buffy said politely. A thought struck her. "Hey, do you know where Marie and Willow are?" She looked at him. "And you're going to say right next door, aren't you?"

Molly plopped down on the floor near Buffy and tried to sooth her book so she could open it to study. "Hey, Buffy. How are finals going for you?"

"I gotta say, if it gives me bruises, I'm just going to avoid it and keep to the doughnuts," she says, and picks up a doughnut because she has followthrough sometimes.

"I...do not know where they are right this moment," Peter answered carefully. He handed her a cup of coffee. "But their room is 509?"

"I already applied to colleges. Do you think it really matters if I fail high school?" she wonders.
