fandomhighdorms | "We're Bored, So Let's Party" Party: Dorm Stairwells (First-Fifth Floors), Friday Early Afternoon On

Okay, so it wasn't the best planned or fanciest party in the world. There weren't any streamers or banners, just a few hand-scrawled signs on printer paper reading "We're Bored, So Let's Party!" There wasn't even a theme really, but that sort of was the theme, as he and Nadia had concluded yesterday. Besides, Anders was tired and not exactly up to his usual standard of movement. Plus, they were saving all the decorations and planning for the real party, after all the new kids arrived. Oh yes. ~~Mwahahaha.~~

Small tables of snacks, food, and drinks (and of course the ubiquitous supply of cupcakes, since this was after all Anders) had been laid out on all the landings between the first and fifth floors, and the common rooms had been raided for chairs and seat cushions to form makeshift seating areas in the hallways near the stairwells.

Hey, an impromptu party was better than boredom, right?

"But they do like bland food. I think they probably make earl grey ice cream."

"I like spicy food!" Z objected. "I just don't like spicy ice cream. Fried ice cream, now, is another story..."

Nadia nodded slowly. "Fried . . . CINNAMON ice cream?"

Z could see where this was going. "Cinnamon and hot sauce are two entirely different things."

"Not that big of a step."

"Yuh-huh."

"Nuh-uh," said Nadia.

"Si."

"¡No! Also, Нет, nein, ne, non, and não!"

Nadia could say "no" in several languages.

Z rolled her eyes, then said 'yes' in Low Triforian, Sirian, and Aquitian. The last one sounded like she had something caught in her throat.

"No ad infinitum." declared Nadia.

"Yes to infinity plus one," Z said triumphantly.

Nadia stuck her tongue out at Z.

Two could play at that game. Z stuck her tongue out at Nadia.

Nadia added a wrinkled nose to her repetoire.

Z scrunched up her eyes, too.

Oh, that was it. It was ON. Nadia crossed her eyes.

Z sighed. "I got nothin'. Unless I pull on my ears. I yield."

"I win!" Nadia cheered. "What were we arguing about?"

"I was hoping you remembered," Z admitted. "Did it have to do with ice cream?"

"Oh! And hot sauce!" Most of Nadia's arguments involved hot sauce, though, so that wasn't necessarily something she remembered about this one.

Z looked doubtful. "Are you sure?"

"Um, no."

"Neither am I. But it seems unlikely we were arguing over hot sauce and ice cream." Even though they actually had been.

"Yeah, that would seem like a pretty obvious thing."
