Thursday evening, fourth floor common room

Well supplied with popcorn and munchies, Dean settled down in front of the tv to watch a monster movie marathon he stumbled upon. There were a lot worst ways to spend an evening, he thought with a contented sigh.

Since it would be way too boring to stay in his floors common room Shawn's ventured up a couple of floors in search of entertainment.

"Hey," he said as he flopped on a couch and glanced at the TV.

"Hey," Dean said. "Zombie movie," he added when he saw the other boy looking at the tv.

"Hey Shawn," Peter said with a grin. He glanced at the cast. "When are you going to get rid of that?"

"Entertainment or research?" Blair asked as he took a seat on the floor nearby.

"Entertainment," Dean said with a grin. "Never use B horror movies for research." He held out the big bowl. "Popcorn?"

"Entertainment for me," Shawn said. "Generally don't feel the need to research methods of brain eating."

"WHOA!!! What is THAT?!??!"

Sokka, drawn by the noise, ran up, vaulted over the back of a couch, and settled in, quivering in rapture.

"This is The. Most. Awesome. Thing. EVER!!!"

Dean held back a chuckle at the new guy's reaction. "I take it that they don't have tv where you're from."

Shawn blinked. "You've gotta be new," he commented.

"It gets better." Blair laughed. "Most movies don't have zombies."

Sam headed upstairs to look for Dean, and was happy to find him in the common room. "Hey," he said in greeting.

"Hey," Dean said, shifting over to make room for Sammy on the couch beside him. "Popcorn?"

Peter came in. Anyone who had met him prior to that afternoon would notice he was sporting some scrapes on his hands and face. He didn't looked too bothered by it though. "Hey. What's on?"

"Zombies," Dean said. "What happened to you?"

"I can talk!" Faithful cheerfully informed the room from his perch on Alanna's shoulder. "Save us all." Alanna said dryly.

Neil had gotten caught up most of the day trying to write a letter to his parents that wasn't a complete pack of fibs.

He was still working on it. But he had decided to take a break and poke around a bit, so he'd come up from the third floor, drawn by the sound of really cheesey monsters.

Carrying a mug of tea, Neil gravitated towards the couch.

"I think...where I come from...this movie was playing for the first time on the big screen." Neil said in a thoughtful tone.

"Really? That's pretty cool, how far back..." Blair paused and looked at the new student for a minute. "Whoa, Dr. Wilson?"

"Really young Dr. Wilson?"

"Third room this morning, fourth tonight." Annette was talking to herself as she entered the fourth floor common room, pleased to see that it was not yet overflowing with people.

And she spotted Alec immediately.

Grinning, she headed for the couch and with a polite excuse me at the others on either side of Alec, she squeezed herself down next to him. "Hey, you won't believe the dream I had about you last night. Oh my god. But I'll spare you the details." She lowered her voice. "Have you been thinking, about, you know?"

Pretty blonde, obviously mistaking him for Alec. "You must be Annette," Dean said with a smile. "I'm not Alec. I'm Dean. We just look alike."

Intrigued by the noise, Rikku wandered in to the common room and stared for a few moments at the flickering screen. At a particularly loud CRASH, she jumped.

"Whose sphere is this?!" she gasped. "Are they okay?!?"

"It's a TV." Blair looked up at the new girl. "It's just pretend, those aren't live people. Or live dead people in this case."

Happy to be back, Peter wandered down to the first busy Common Room. "Evening, everybody," he said with a grin and found a seat on the couch.

"Welcome back," Isabel waved. "How'd it go?"

Isabel wandered down the room to check out the noise. "Cool! Monsters!"

After spending some time on the third floor Dick headed up a floor to check out the other common rooms.

"Dude, zombie movies are awesome!" Dick says. He picks a spot on the floor to sit down on.

"Dude," Conner said as he wandered in, "that is so totally a guy in a rubber suit."

"Well yeah," Dean said with a grin. "That's what makes it great. It's so bad it's good."

Bridge wanders up to the fourth floor in search of people to meet and flops down on a couch.

"Bridge!" Conner exclaims, bolting over to greet him. He's feeling energetic enough that he totally forgets about the whole speed factor, and is pretty much standing next to Bridge in less time than it took to say his name.

Door's got hold of a nametag, despite not being a new student. After a moment of glaring at her no-longer-possessed black Sharpie, she'd written NOT WINDOW on it, then slapped it onto her shirt and headed out to the common room.

"Please tell me this is fiction and not a documentary?" she says as she enters to the sight of brains being devoured on the television.

"Fiction," Dean confirmed. He got a look at her nametag and snickered. "My first term here when they handed out nametags, I wrote 'Not Alec' on mine."

Alec sensed there were people gathering and followed the murmur of conversation to the CR. Seeing how many people were grouped around the tv, he looked for a space to sit and ended up sitting on Dean's lap not dirty.

"So what are we watching tonight?" he asked the room, offering M&Ms from a bag to anyone who seemed interested.

"Zombies," Dean replied, taking a handful of M&Ms and seeming completely unphased at having a lapful of Alec, if a little amused.
