Dick was sitting on the couch, watching old CFD re-runs. He also had a bowl of popcorn in his hand which was mostly un-burnt. And yes, he considered popcorn a valid meal. It was made of corn after all and corn was a vegetable!

"I'm glad to hear that," Summer said sincerely. Then she thought about something. "There wasn't actually a huge weight on your head or something, right? Around here, you never know."

"No, just some... sort of resolution to stuff from back home," Cassie said.

"That's good then," Summer said, giving her a small smile. "Wouldn't want you to get crushed or something. Though you do have that cool power."

"Heh," Cassie said. "It comes in handy, but it doesn't really help with stupid friendship problems."

"I'm sorry," Summer said, frowning. "Someone has issues with you because of it? That's doesn't seem fair."

"It was complicated," Cassie said. "But it's over. I think."

"I get complicated," Summer said, nodding. "I'm glad things worked out for you."

"Me too," Cassie said. "So, getting used to all the new people?"

"I think so, though I haven't really gotten the chance to pick on the newbies yet," Summer joked.

Cassie mock-pouted a bit. "You wouldn't pick on little me, would you?"

"Would I do that?" Summer said, grinning mischievously.

"I dunno. We've barely met," Cassie said.

"This is very true," Summer said. "So you don't know what I'm capable of." Of course, she couldn't say this with a straight face.

Cassie grinned. "Think I'm safe, though. I think I have you pegged as a nice girl."

"I'm trying to be," Summer said, nodding. A year ago, she probably wouldn't have been very nice.

"Good," Cassie said. "I think you're doin' it pretty well."

"Good to know," Summer said. "Better to be nice to the people who might have to rescue you during an invasion."
