Third Floor Common Room - Saturday, Late morning/early afternoon

After taking a shower, Tori made her way to the common room. She turned on the television, finding some cartoons to watch.

It was a Saturday afternoon and there wasn't really anything good on the television, so cartoons it was.

Tori made a bowl of popcorn and sat down on the couch, trying to pass the time before the party.

[OOC: Open!! Yes, I know Tori's being original. ;) SP is love!]

After Jamie's words about getting out the other day, Hermione decides to bring her book out to the common room to read. After all, she can always leave if it gets too noisy.

She gives the new girl a little "Hello" and sits in one of the chairs with her book.

"Oh, no thank you," she says. She glances towards the television and asks, "What are you watching?"

"Hermione," she says. "I'm in 308. Where are you from, Tori?"

"England, 1995. Well, 1996 now, I suppose," she says, and almost smiles. "I see you've already learned to specify what time, too."

"Have you met many people so far?"

Hermione immediately brightens, because she's kind of a nerd. "I'm looking forward to it," she says happily. "What are you taking?"

"Defense Against Malicious Magic, 20th Century Popular Culture, Forensic Science, the religion class with the ridiculous name, and Novice's Guide to Villains and Villainy," she recites. "I took Professor Next's class last semester and it was very interesting."

"Definitely," Hermione says with a nod. "I'm usually more used to nonfiction books, but we covered many of the classic novels and learned more than I would have otherwise. It's very interactive. And once we visited a library that had fifty-two levels of books!"

"It was brilliant," Hermione says, and this is about as bubbly as she gets, and it's over a library. "I didn't want to leave."

It only now occurs to Hermione that the fifty-two level room is probably only of interest to her, Willow and Rory. "I get carried away sometimes," she admits.

"What kinds of things are you interested in?" she asks. The girl can be taught to be social. She can.

"You're obviously much more athletic than I am," Hermione says. "There is a self-defense club here you might be interested in, if it continues this semester."

"I think they do something for different clubs at the beginning of the semester sometime," she says. "I think that's one of the ones that people are very interested in."
