Third Floor Common Room - Saturday, Late morning/early afternoon

After taking a shower, Tori made her way to the common room. She turned on the television, finding some cartoons to watch.

It was a Saturday afternoon and there wasn't really anything good on the television, so cartoons it was.

Tori made a bowl of popcorn and sat down on the couch, trying to pass the time before the party.

Hermione looks up and notices it's starting to get busy in there. Yes, it took her this long to notice, because after all, book. But she looks up at the new person and waves a bit.

Haruhi politely waved back, and an amused sort of grin tugged at her mouth when it looked like the stranger was rather engrossed in her book. "Interesting read?"

"It is," she says. It's mostly a lie, but she needs to leaarn it, so she can fool herself. "History of Magic."

"Magic?" Haruhi made a face in thought. "Right. So I hear there is that kind of stuff floating around here."

"Mm hm," she says. "It seems to be fairly common. I'm Hermione, by the way."

"I'm Haruhi," she replied. "Perhaps I'll get to see it myself soon then, on top of the other oddities I already have."

"Other oddities?" she asks, curious.

"My roommate says she's a superhero," Haruhi began. "Then she proceeded to shrink down until she was an inch tall. Then the next day someone changed into a..." she trailed off, unable to think of what exactly it was. "A something. He just turned green. Someone else claimed they were actually dead despite standing there in front of me, after falling off the roof." She paused, hoping she didn't sound too crazy.

"Welcome to Fandom," Hermione says. "It's a bit different here."

"So I've noticed," Haruhi said. "As long as it doesn't interfere with the important things."

"School tends to go on as planned," she says, completely assuming that's the important thing being addressed. "Even when things attack us, it seems to happen on a weekend." Because if it didn't, Hermione would be marching up to whatever was in charge and telling them to go away until classes had ended for the day.

"That's good," she replied. Congrats, Hermione, you assumed correctly. "I can't afford to have my grades slip, even here."
