The lobby had been . . . well, decked out could be the term, possibly. . . . The floor was covered in some sort of black astroturf, the walls were festooned in black crepe paper. Black buckets filled with black water balloons and tables with black silly string were in the corners, and a black clothed table held pies and snacks, especially cupcakes, all chocolate, or otherwise . . . well . . . black.

The black banana cream pie was especially of interest.

There were signs to point out this was done with food coloring, and was not to be thought of as inedible.

Nadia herself was decked out in her blackest blacks, wearing a pin with a big black X over a pink pony with wings, and a banner read:

Defend yourself from the scourge of pink!

[ooc: very minimal OCD ~~going~~ is up. I will be afk for the next few hours attending a company holiday party, but will return asap as I don't really want to deal with all that for too long tonight. Anders will, hopefully, be along shortly as well. It's in the lobby so that teachers may also participate, and, yes, Nadia will be doing the clean up, afterwards, should folks decide to play with the water balloons and silly string. "Must be hard to be so far from home," Wyatt said wistfully. "I thought San Francisco was far, but it's a lot further for you."

"Haven't seen my mum or dad for over a year now," Cally said.

"That sucks," Wyatt said. "You don't get to visit home at all?"

"Too far," Cally said. "It'd take longer to get home than most of the breaks."

"No teleporters or anything, either?" Wyatt said. "Are there other people from other planets around here?"

"Yep," Cally said. "Stark's the obvious one. Sorta. Zhaan, in town, she's the super obvious one."

"Haven't met either of them," Wyatt said. "They don't look human? Little green men?"

"Stark's got a big metal mask on the side of his face, and Zhaan is blue."

"Well, that'll make 'em stand out," Wyatt said. "But you look totally human."

"Cause I am," Cally said.

"But you're from another planet," Wyatt said. "Unless you're from way far in the future or something?"

"...It's a long story," Cally said.

"You're not just wearing a human face over a scary lizard face, are you?" Wyatt joked. "Like those guys on that TV show."

"I'm human, honest," Cally said. "Humans on Earth are the lost thirteenth colonists."

"Thirteenth colonists?" Wyatt repeated, confused.

"...long story," Cally repeated. "So what's San Francisco like in the future?"

"Ever been out there?" Wyatt asked. "It's not too different from what it looks like in this time, I guess. A few more tall buildings."

"Yeah, to visit my friend Piper," Cally said. "Good to know it stays the same."

"...you know Piper?" Wyatt asked cautiously.

"I kinda have made out with her," Cally said, a wistful smile on her face.

Wyatt went into full force flail. "YOU MADE OUT WITH HER?"

"EEP! What, what's wrong?"

"SHE'S MY MOTHER!" OMG.

There were no words.

Merely gaping and staring.

And flailing. LOTS OF FLAILING.
