Second Floor Common Room, Tuesday Evening

After realizing she hadn't taken her turn at feeding the voracious hordes recently, Zero made a trip down to Ching Tai and returned with prodigious amounts of Chinese takeout, which she set up in the common room. Then she helped herself to some ginger chicken and lounged around watching "Mighty Capin' Justice Magicians" on the TV. Her good deed for the day was done.

Turtle and her insane mun who can't seem to stop pinging into threads drifted into the common room, sniffing the air. "It smells like home in here," she observed.

Zero gestured to the table of Chinese food. "Are you from China, then?" she asked Turtle.

"Hey," Conner said to the girl he didn't recognize. "How's it going?"

Chris went down to the second floor to look for his brother, but got distracted by the smell of Chinese food. He poked his head in to see if he recognized anyone.

Zero saw him and said, "Hey, you want food?" Well, it was to the point.

Turtle gave a little wave to the guy she didn't know.

Tori had decided to pay a visit to the second floor perchance someone might be around. She entered the common room, both seeing and smelling the chinese food.

"Wow, that smells great."

"It smells like dinner," Zero said with a grin. "Help yourself!"

Another little wave for another person she didn't know as Turtle munched on cereal instead of Chinese.

"Hey, Tori," Chris said with a dorky wave and a shy smile.

"Hey, Tori!" Conner said once he'd dropped onto a couch. "Here for the food, or the weird capes?"

Dick smelled Chinese food from down the hall and practically bolted out of his room in order to find it.

"Chinese food! I love you! Even though I don't know who you are." says Dick "Please tell me I can eat some of this."

"Dick!" Turtle called out in joyful greeting and then could not stop laughing.

Give her a break; she was fourteen.

Zero grinned at him and said, "Sure, s'what it's there for. I'm Zero, Zero Hopeless-Savage."

Stark headed down the hall to the common room. Either his free food radar had started pinging, or the smell of chinese takeout had made its way into his room.

"Hello," he said to the room, then waved.

"Hi, Stark," Zero said from the couch. "S'up?"

Sometimes, Turtle had no tact.

"What'd you do to your face?" she asked Stark, by way of greeting. She figured, with a mask like that, he had to be used to people asking.

"Hi there." Tori smiled and waved at the unfamiliar figure. A new person to meet; she was happy.

"What is that smell?" Balthier said in surprise as he passed by the common room. It both fascinated and horrified him at the same time; reminding him of something akin to being in the Rabanastre sewers next to a fine dining restaurant.

"Chinese takeaway," Zero called over her shoulder. "You must be new. I'm Zero."

Demyx, coming back after spending the day out and going to classes and whatnot, was going the long way. And was drawn inexplicably to the common room. "...Free food?" He asked hopefully.

"Duh," Zero told him. "Hey, long time no see!"

The smell of food that was almost like home drew Katara down a floor to the Common Room. She stood in the doorway, eyes wide, trying to track down the smell. "It smells so good," she said quietly with a quick smile to those in the room.

"Help yourself," Zero told the new girl. "S'what it's there for. I'm Zero, Zero Hopeless-Savage."

Peter walked down to the common room and stared at the Ching Tai boxes. "That's a lot of food. You're still on speaking terms with the owners, right?" Peter asked Zero. "And hi, people I haven't met."

Zero looked indignant. "Of course I am! I tipped very well, I'll have you know! And didn't throw any chopsticks."

Hey, look, there was a sudden backdraft, and then Conner was on the couch in the common room.

Staring at the TV.

"I still can't deal with those capes."

"They're pretty impractical from a superheroin' standpoint," Zero agreed. She decided not to comment on his sudden appearance, just smoothed her hair back into place (like you could tell if it was out of place).

Alanna and Faithful came into the common room. "Nice hair!"

"Thanks!" Zero said. "How's it goin'?"

Bridge wanders in to the common room. And rolls his eyes when he sees what's on.

But stays and watches anyway.

"Hey!" he says, waving.

"Bridge, hi!" Zero said with a wave of her chopsticks. "Are you, too, a fan of magicians who mightily cape for justice?"
