Second Floor Common Room, Thursday Evening

Anders had gone back to his room after Ares's class and taken a long nap. Luckily for him, he didn't have any classes tomorrow -- which was good considering that now his sleep schedule was going to be all wonky.

Anyway, he had finally hauled himself next door to the common room, where he was devouring a chicken Caesar salad about the size of a small jacuzzi while watching cheesy old action flicks.

"Wow, the stunt bottle over the head really is universal, apparently."

"It's all good," Carmela assures him.

"Oh, good. That it's good," Stark said, nodding.

"Where are you from, anyway?" Carmela asks. "We had a whole semester in class together and I don't know that much about you."

Ah, a nice safe conversation topic that Stark was now going to cling to.

"The Uncharted Territories," he said. "Space." He pointed vaguely upwards, because that had become habit by this point. "What about you?"

"Manhattan," Carmela says with a shrug. "It's not that interesting. I've never been to the Uncharted Territories."

"I've never been to Manhattan," Stark said. "Haven't gone anywhere off the island, since I've been here. And most people here haven't been to the Uncharteds. Or anywhere near them."

"I have a portal in my closet that takes me to another planet," Carmela offers. "Not here, though. Back home."

"In your closet?" That was something new. "Just one planet, all the time? Or different ones? How does that work?"

"Just one planet," Carmela admits. "But it's Rirhath B, and that's home to a big, big, big Worldgate station that goes all over the galaxy."
