Second Floor Common Room, Thursday Evening

Anders had gone back to his room after Ares's class and taken a long nap. Luckily for him, he didn't have any classes tomorrow -- which was good considering that now his sleep schedule was going to be all wonky.

Anyway, he had finally hauled himself next door to the common room, where he was devouring a chicken Caesar salad about the size of a small jacuzzi while watching cheesy old action flicks.

"Wow, the stunt bottle over the head really is universal, apparently."

Pam wandered down the hall to the common room, and waved to the unfamiliar guy. "Um, hi."

"Hey," Anders said, looking up. "How's it going, um . . . ?"

"Stunt bottle?" Balthier said comming up behind him. He arched an eyebrow at the screen. "I see, well they would have too, the real thing would do too much damage."

"Also," Anders said through a crunchy mouthful of crouton, "it doesn't shatter as pretty."

"Is that even physically possible?" Alanna asked as she came in, cat in hand.

"Possible and painful," Pam said. "But this is all rigged."

"Yes, unfortunately," Balthier replied, watching the screen. It was quite fascinating how they could replicate a fight like that with no one being harmed.

"I would have to say no," Anders said, screwing his face up and trying to contemplate the mechanics of it.

If there was a snapping sound, that would be his brain.

Jim wandered down to the common room and noted the television. "Hey. Which movie is this?"

"The one with that guy," Pam answered, waving at him.

"I have no idea," Anders said. "But there are wacky action stunts that would probably never work in real life. Hey, Jim."

"Somebody told me that was a TV," Mel said with a confused look.

"Hey, Anders," Carmela says. "Haven't seen you in a while."

"No kidding," Anders says, waving at her with his salad fork. "How's it going, Carmela?"

Stark, apparently still feeling oddly social, wandered into the common room.

"Anders!"

"Awww, it's my favorite Stark!" Anders suddenly looked mildly panicked.

". . . I don't have cupcakes."

Liz was trying to make more of an effort to be social, "hey" she said as she entered the common room.

"Um. Nice hat," Mel said because she has really nothing more to say.

Mel was trying to be anywhere but her room at the moment and an active CR looked to be just the thing.

"Hey, I'm Mel for those who don't know me," she said flopping down onto the couch. "There. Introductions are done."

"Nice hair!" Carmela says cheerfully. "I'm Carmela."

Aeryn hates the common room at this time of year, she really does, but she also hasn't been to one in a while. So when she has some time, she heads into the common room, and is almost immediately tilting her head at the TV, interested in the movie.

Pam waves at the new girl, trying to think of something to say.

"Hi. I like your shirt." It's not true, but she's trying to sound sincere so that probably counts for something.

Parker had finally found a present for Weiss, and so time in the common room to chill out was earned. "People. New. Old. Hi." She sat down and stared at the screen. "Okay, painful. In its cheesiness."

Anders waved his salad fork at her. "Sometimes it's therapeutic, okay?"

Lucas lingered outside the door to the common room. He heard the ruckus inside. Today's resolution was to get out there and meet people so when the Captain called to check on him, he wouldn't have to lie when he said he was trying. After a few more moments of hesitation, Lucas rolled his eyes at himself and walked into the common room.

He casually nodded in greeting and took a seat. "Hey. What's on?"

Dick loved cheesy action flicks. He was always amused how the flunkys could be knocked out with one karate chop to the neck. He tried that with his brother once and ended up getting a remote hurled at his head.

"Hey everybody!" he greeted after he sat down on the floor.

Lucas, looking like he felt very out of place, gave a short wave. "Hey."

Door's not watched much in the way of fighting movies like when she's visited the common rooms, so, interested in the self-defense angle, she's looking more at the screen when she walks in than at the.... "Wow, crowd."

You do notice when you start tripping over their feet.

"It was like that when I got here," Lucas said, avoiding blame if this was a TV-watching flash mob.

Demyx was drawn by the sounds of voices in the common room, but nearly backpedalled his way out again when he saw who was there. But there were other people too, and Demyx resolutely didn't look at Anders. Instead, he went over to Balthier and rested lightly against his shoulder. "What's on?" He asked curiously.

"Ahh, I'm not entirely sure myself, but some sort of 'action' movie?" He had no clue, just like he had no clue as to why Demyx was leaning on him. He eyed the blond. "I don't have any food."
