Second Floor Common Room, Monday evening

Jim wandered out to the common room with a bowl of candy - which included a few Canary Creams from the joke shop mixed in there - and turned on the second night of the season premiere of 60. There might be dead terrorists on the screen and there might be people turning into giant birds in the common room. No matter what, Jim figured he was going to be entertained tonight.

He couldn't help but wonder who was playing the one guy. "I know I've seen him in something. Oh! Wait! The stoner movie! The guy from the White Castle movie!" Jim was way too excited about figuring that out.

[OOC: Open as a common room tends to be. There are a handful of Canary Creams in the candy bowl. If you want to eat one, feel free. You'll be a giant canary for the span of a comment or so. And 60 is, of course, 24. Unless somebody directs me to a different meta for it.

Also, I'm American. I didn't know about any Australian politicians named John Howard. But meta-Bauer has a slight Australian accent Australia has a meta-Bauer accent because of it, okay?]

"Not yet, but it's just a matter of time," Jim said, giddy about this fact. "You a fan, too?"

"I've only seen it a few times," Tyler admitted. "But it seems to have enough violence to make it interesting."

"It definitely has that," Jim said. "By the way, I'm Jim Halpert."

"Tyler Durden," Tyler supplied. "There are a lot of you new people."

"You have it easy. There are even more of you old people," Jim said. "We have to learn who everyone is."

"Yeah, but I don't know all the old people, either," Tyler admitted.

He closed his eyes. "You can remember me because ... I'm on student council. And people think I like to blow things up."

Jim's face scrunched in thought. "Why do people think that?"

"Possibly because I ended up in the clinic trying to make something my first week here," Tyler said. "Lesson learned, don't trust the Internet. Or it could just be a scurrilous rumor."

"Huh," Jim said. "I'm going to pretend it's a rumor, but if you ever do something like that, please let me know so I can stay in my room, okay?"

"I'll issue an all-points bulletin," Tyler said, knowing he would do no such thing. "So what do you do in your spare time?"

"Nothing explosive," Jim said. "Television, reading things, talking to myself. You know, the usual. Oh, and basketball. Big fan of that."

"Talking to yourself's always a good time. I used to run a basketball team here at school," Tyler said. "It dried up at the end of the summer, but I could do some one-on-one sometime."

"Definitely," Jim said. "Just don't blow me up if I beat you, okay?"

"I've never blown anyone up," Tyler said. "And you're on."

Truthfully, even. Just don't ask about the scar on his hand.
