Second Floor Common Room, Monday evening

Jim wandered out to the common room with a bowl of candy - which included a few Canary Creams from the joke shop mixed in there - and turned on the second night of the season premiere of 60. There might be dead terrorists on the screen and there might be people turning into giant birds in the common room. No matter what, Jim figured he was going to be entertained tonight.

He couldn't help but wonder who was playing the one guy. "I know I've seen him in something. Oh! Wait! The stoner movie! The guy from the White Castle movie!" Jim was way too excited about figuring that out.

[OOC: Open as a common room tends to be. There are a handful of Canary Creams in the candy bowl. If you want to eat one, feel free. You'll be a giant canary for the span of a comment or so. And 60 is, of course, 24. Unless somebody directs me to a different meta for it.

Also, I'm American. I didn't know about any Australian politicians named John Howard. But meta-Bauer has a slight Australian accent Australia has a meta-Bauer accent because of it, okay?]

Tannim plopped down on the couch. "What are we watching?" he asked.

"Night two of the premiere of 60," Jim said. "I don't think I've met you yet. I'm Jim."

Tyler? Bored, and considering going for a long walk.

But the siren call of the TV lured him in. "Is something blowing up?" he asked from the doorway, craning his neck to get a better look.

"I'm Tannim," Tannim said. "I missed last night's episode."

"Not yet, but it's just a matter of time," Jim said, giddy about this fact. "You a fan, too?"

"Episodes, plural," Jim said. "It was awesome. Several explosions, John Howard beat up a bunch of people. Everything you could hope for."

Peter just so happened to be walking by. He frowned. "Okay, where the hell do I know that guy from?"

"I just figured that out. He's the Indian guy from the stoner movie at White Castle," Jim said.

Aeryn had been going out for a run, stopping when she sees the TV. "What's this?"

"Thank you," Peter said. He came in and took a seat. "Talk about a case of Hey It's That Guy. I'm Peter Petrelli by the way."

"It was driving me insane yesterday. Oh, Jim Halpert. That's me," Jim said. He was slightly distracted by the show, okay?

"It's called 60. It's about a guy who kills terrorists in real time for sixty minutes a week," Jim said. "Except this week, it's two hundred and forty minutes. And, hi, I'm Jim Halpert."

That was okay, Peter was distracted too. "This guy's doing pretty good for someone who's been dead... how many times so far? Five?"

"Aeryn Sun. He actually kills terrorists?" she asks, watching more intently now.

"Only four. He was faking that one time," Jim said. "Okay, I don't know how you fake a flatline, but if I did, I'd do it all the time."

"And he doesn't sleep. Or eat. But he does pause to express his humanity with a moment of doubt every few hours," Jim said. "That's how you know he's not a cyborg."

"Well you know killing him doesn't make him dead," Peter said. "Just makes him angry."

"This may be the first thing I've ever found worth watching," she says, taking a seat. "Doubt about what? They're terrorists. They die."

"For every death the terrorists inflict upon him, he kills fifty of them," Jim agreed. "It's a delicate balance that they should know not to mess with by now."

"I hear there were originally five Horsemen of the Apocalypse," Peter said. "John Howard said he would travel by foot."

Once again drawn from her room, Irulan perused the common room curiously. The show on the viewscren used split screen effect, interesting.

"Doubt about whether or not he can take all of the pressure of saving the country within twenty-four hours on his shoulder again," Jim said. "Or sometimes the sacrifices he's made in his home life and what he's lost. But mostly I think that's how he gets rid of exhaustion."

Cassie poked her head in the common room.

"What're we watching?"

Naomi decided that she was going to be social that evening, so that was why she was down in the second floor common room, "hey," she said as entered.

"Well, of course, you kill enough people, you're bound to need a break sometimes," Aeryn says, and she kind of sounds like someone who knows. "Is it just the one man doing all the killing?"
