Polexia slept in late after her night out at Caritas.

But when she woke up, she was bored and ended up wandering down to the common room. She figured out how to work the television and was very excited to find something called MTV that was showing music videos.

She dug through the cabinets and fridge and found some suitable snacks and settled in to watch this fascinating thing.


[open, as common rooms are. Marie is Polexia from Almost Famous, so she's from the early 70s. She also doesn't have Marie's mutation, so she's not covered up and she can touch people.]

Conner sighed and rubbed a hand over his face. "Because this isn't you," he said. "And nobody I know is right this weekend, seems like. And it's been a crazy week all around."

"What's not me?" Polexia asked.

"You're not Marie," Conner said sadly. "You look just like her, almost, but . . . you're not her."

Polexia pouted. "So you like her better."

Conner hesitated. "Well . . . she's my friend."

"Maybe I could be your friend, too."

Conner laughed briefly. "Yeah, I guess. I'd miss her, but . . . we could give that a try."

"Oh," Polexia said, understanding dawning. "She's your... friend."

"Yeah, she's my friend," Conner said, completely missing the emphasis. "Good she got over the whole thing about me and Anders pretty well, or she might not be."

Polexia looked confused. "If you guys have an open relationship, why can't you and I have some fun?"

"Open relationship?" Conner repeated. "Oh, no, wait -- you thought we were . . ." He made an unmistakable gesture with both hands, because his brain was too broken to actually find the words at this point.

"So she's really just a friend?" Polexia asked, her tone disbelieving.

Conner looked mildly insulted. For no good reason. "It is possible, you know."

Polexia shrugged. "I guess so."

"Is there something wrong with that?" asked Conner.

"Just not something I see very often," Polexia admitted.

Conner tilted his head and looked at her oddly. "Where do you hang out that this is so weird?"

"Here and there," Polexia said. "I spent some time on the road with Stillwater and then I went to England with Deep Purple."
