Fifth floor common room, Wednesday evening
Nadia had set herself up in the kitchen with a large pot full of a watered-down mix of black ink, dye, and latex paint, and lots and lots of newspaper.
She was currently attempting to get the stuffed, winged pink pony into the pot.
"No, no, it's lots of fun, I promise!"
"It doesn't look very nice or happy or friendly," the pony would reply.
"Just get in the pot!"
"Why don't we play Candyland instead?" asked the pony.
It wasn't going well.

Flipper squeaked and hid behind Tori's leg, apparently afraid of the pot.

Nadia rolled her eyes. "Flipper seems tamer than the pony."

Tori laughed. "I guess he is." She shrugged, amused, not sure why he was like that.

Flipper squeaked loudly and animatedly at the pony. He seemed to be having fun.

Nadia started glaring daggers at it.

Tori didn't know why Flipper didn't talk but so far, he only made dolphin noises... which is what he was doing right now. Whistling and possibly... yep, that was sonar.

"Can you say 'happy'? Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaappyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy."

Flipper squeaked excitedly, and to some people it might have sounded like he said happy in a jumble of squeaks.

Nadia stared at the pony again. "I think I might be insulted."

Flipper squeaked and tried again. This time it was a bit easier to tell what he was trying to say.

Nadia shook her head. "I couldn't find one. And it might take too long."

She chuckled at Flipper and the pony. It looked like they were having a good time. She laughed as Flipper looked up at her and squeaked once and turned back to squeak a few times, at Nadia and then the pony.

"I think he's doing a very good job. Don't try to push him too hard." She smiled down at Flipper, who squeaked twice.

"That's it," said Nadia, and she started wrestling the pony into the pot.

"It's okay." She spoke, looking down at Flipper. "She's only trying to give him a bath."

"Hey there, big fellah," it said at last. "What's your name?"

Flipper squeaked in confusion and fear.

The pony nodded. "I needed that,"
no subject
Flipper squeaked in agreement.
