Fifth floor common room, Wednesday evening

Nadia had set herself up in the kitchen with a large pot full of a watered-down mix of black ink, dye, and latex paint, and lots and lots of newspaper.

She was currently attempting to get the stuffed, winged pink pony into the pot.

"No, no, it's lots of fun, I promise!"

"It doesn't look very nice or happy or friendly," the pony would reply.

"Just get in the pot!"

"Why don't we play Candyland instead?" asked the pony.

It wasn't going well.

Tori laughed at the players clustering around Anders.

"Will it be legal?" She smirked, knowing some of their antics from this morning. "At home, I was constantly in the water, surfing and swimming." Tori explained, grinning sheepishly. "So, they said I was like a dolphin and voila! A plush dolphin."

"That makes sense. They're all playful and stuff. Like they're really having fun in the water," Anders said, pointing a warning finger at one of the Pyramid players. "Hey, hey hey hey! Illegal defense there, buddy, and you know it! That foul break's going against your team now!"

He shook his head and looked back at Tori. "I'm going to develop a split personality from this, I swear. Anyway. I was about to say, I tried bodyboarding a couple times over the summer. Not very good at it, but it was pretty fun."

"Yeah, they are. I used to go down to the beach and watch them splash around and just seemed to enjoy themselves." Tori chuckled, grinning. She watched the players and shook her head. "You guys should really listen to him, he is being fair."

Tori winced. "I sure hope you don't." But the players were giving him a hard time. "Bodyboarding's fun too, yeah. Surfing's not that difficult to learn, once you master balancing on the board." She admitted. "A few of the guys learned back home and they weren't the greatest at finding a center of balance. But, they got the hang of it and would get in the water as much as they could."

"Damn shame it's too cold to go in the ocean now," Anders said, sidestepping a bum-rush tackle by one of the Pyramid figures. "You're making me want to go out and learn how to do that again."

He rolled his eyes at a few more protests from the plastic athletes. "They're just arguing for the sake of it, now. Stupid pro athletes and their egos . . . shoot me if I ever get that bad?"

Tori shrugged. "Well, not if you've got a wetsuit." She had one and yes, that was Tori plotting to get into the water in the next few days. The only thing she needed to find was a board. "If you want, I could help you out?" She was used to teaching the boys, she wouldn't mind teaching Anders.

Tori blinked and shook her head at the athletes. "So it seems. Well, I doubt you'll ever be like that, but okay, I will." Though it would never have to come to that.

"Really? It never got this cold in Delphi. 'course, Delphi wasn't near the ocean either," Anders said thoughtfully. "Maybe I should look into getting a wetsuit . . . too bad Stuff For Sale isn't selling water sports equipment right now, huh?"

One of the Pyramid players snickered.

"Oh, shut up."

"Yeah. Back home, it was never this cold either. But it got cool, so I had a wetsuit to keep me warm in the water." Tori smiled. "Yeah, I didn't get to bring my surfboard, so I wanted to find one here. I wonder if All and Sundries would have them?" She knew it was winter, but she could hope.

Tori raised an eyebrow at the one player. "Wow, they really aren't cooperative. At all."
