3rd Floor Common Room - all afternoon

Parker and Isabel had been ranging the hallways, trying to find a way to communicate; but even mouthing words wasn't very effective.

Throwing herself onto the Third Floor Common Room couch, Parker glared at the ceiling, trying to think of a solution for their dilemma.

"Okay, you lost your voice," Chris got that much, but the throat-slitting gestures and poof motions were confusing him. "But you're not sick?"

Parker shook her head in frustration. Magic, magic. What the hell was a gesture for magic? She made wavy wand motions, then opened a book, looking at him hopefully.

Isabel's 'scary' gesture plus Parker's book gesture finally penetrated in Chris's brain. "You want me to go get," he lowered his voice and leaned closer to her, "the Book?"

Parker nodded, clapping her hands, then clasping them together in a please, please gesture.

Maybe that spell was in there, maybe it had a reversal spell...

"I'll be right back," Chris promised, heading out of the common room.

He returned a few minutes later carrying a large, green, leather bound book. He was a little antsy about having it out in front of so many people, but this seemed really important.

"Here," he said, sitting near Parker and opening the book. "I have no idea what I'm looking for, so you'll have to help me."

Parker aslmost dropped the book three times, fingers skittering away from the entry she wanted, until she handed it to Chris, and motioned for him to turn the pages, getting more and more desperate.

Chris started flipping through the book slowly so that Parker could stop him when he got to a page that seemed relevant.

And she slapped both hands down before she could think about it, before anything could stop her, the second the entry for the Source popped up. Then she slumped back, taking a breath of relief, and gave Chris a desperate look, pointing.

Chris stopped and stared at the page (http://community.livejournal.com/fhbookofshadows/11797.html) she had indicated.

"The Source of all Evil stole your voice?" he asked incredulously as he started reading.

Parker nodded, and pointed to Isabel, then pantomimed sleeping, as well. She looked over his shoulder, afraid that if she tried to touch the book again, she'd end up doing something even more stupid than dropping it.

"Jesus, Parker, you're lucky that's all he did," Chris said as he finished reading. "Damn no known vanquish... wait... there are notes added at the bottom."

He read the extra lines and his eyebrows shot up at the last sentence. "The vanquish will work for whatever form the Source is in, including Cole. Cole?"

And Parker did a victory dance. Arms shooting upward, twirling, gleeful, dancing, including a hug for Chris, before she stopped and nodded again, hard, pointing to the name. Cole. Bel. Source. YES.
