Second Floor Common Room, Sunday Evening

The television had decided it had a mind of its own, or it was just glitchy. Every few minutes a new show would come on. First it was that crazy soap opera with the dummy/puppet boy, then it was Wormhole X-treme: Shangri-La, then Bitterwoman (of course).

Kawalsky was in the common room with a couple of pizzas, knowing that it was always wise to bring extra if you were going to eat in a public space.

Marco titlted his head at her and rolled a bottle of Coca-cola her way.

Zero eyed the bottle of Coke. "If you want me to open it for you, you have to not shake it up first."

Marco nodded and rolled the bottle to Zero.

Zero sighed, picked up the Coke, said, "Here's hoping rolling isn't enough agitation," and twisted the lid.

The bottle foamed but didn't explode. Marco looked cutely at Zero and realized he hadn't though this all the way through.

Zero sighed. "Would you like me to hold it for you?"

Marco nodded.

"You should have thought of this before you turned into a polar bear," Zero said, and held out the bottle to the polar bear because she was nice like that.

Well, yeah. But he was thinking more of the joke. Marco took a large swallow of Coke that empties out half of the bottle.

Zero kept holding out the bottle. "'Cause no thumbs? Really squalls."

Marco nodded and finished off the bottle.

Zero tossed the bottle in the general direction of the trash can and said, "I hope you've learned your lesson, Mr. Polar Bear. Thumbs are yay."

Marco very gently patted Zero on the head.
