The television had decided it had a mind of its own, or it was just glitchy. Every few minutes a new show would come on. First it was that crazy soap opera with the dummy/puppet boy, then it was Wormhole X-treme: Shangri-La, then Bitterwoman (of course).

Kawalsky was in the common room with a couple of pizzas, knowing that it was always wise to bring extra if you were going to eat in a public space.

Zero shook her head. "Can't tell you, I'd die." Of Vader.

"So there's stuff going on I don't know about, but you can't tell because of a death threat? Does this have anything to do with Sam running off for the weekend and leaving me a freak-out voicemail or something new?"

Zero shook her head. "Nope. I don' have any swoo about that, sorry."

He shrugged. "It's Sam. I'd be more worried if she was sitting at home baking cookies, and not just because her last batch turned me into Danny Zuko."

"Yeh, Sam must not cook," Zero agreed.

"Well, she can cook, but I think we should give everything she cooks to the enemy. Whatever enemy there is. The enemy of the week."

"Next invasion," Zero said, "We'll set up a stand an' give the invaders her cooking. If they have mouths."

"I'm in as long as they're not snickerdoodles. Don't need to give the invaders a taste for humans."

Zero laughed. "Yeah, that's the last thing we need. Most of them have one already!"

"But hey, if we get Sam and Alanna to cook together, we'd have the ultimate weapon. Cookies that make you go crazy, then poison you!"

"The only problem is, said cookies might also make the universe implode."

"But at least it would be a tasty implosion."

"Sam and Alanna are doing the cooking for the implosion. 'Tasty?'"

"We could deep fry them first. The food, not the chefs. Deep frying makes everything taste better. Except ice cream."

"Are you crazed? That, too!"

"I am, on occasion, crazed," he admitted.

Zero nodded and said soberly, "It happens to the best of us."

Kawalsky nodded. "Hey, if you get turned into a kitten again and you come visit me, I'll give you food."

"I like food," Zero said. "But no catnip. I have moral objections."

"I don't think I could keep catnip without Faithful finding it and taking it all. Side effect of dating the girl with the crazy drug addict cat."

Zero waved her hands around and said, "See, this is why I avoid the 'nip! I could turn into crazy drug addict girl!"

"And then we'd have a Very Special Episode on our hands."

"No, anything but that!"
