Coming up with an idea for a present for Valentine's day was much harder than Teddy thought it would be. He was sitting cross legged on the couch, notebook in his lap, trying to come up with an idea of what to get Chad.

A romantic comedy was on TV and Teddy was hoping for some brilliant inspiration to come from watching it. His only idea so far was a teddy bear and he had to beat his head against the arm of the couch for thinking of something so corny.

Stupid holidays.

Cassie came into the common room with lace doilies, construction paper, scissors, glitter, glue, and markers.

"I feel like I'm twelve... which, okay, yeah, not that long ago, shut up."

Teddy grinned. "I wasn't going to say anything."

"Yeah, yeah," Cassie said. "Suuuuure you weren't."

"You've got one up on me with the Valentines," Teddy replied, raising he hands in defense. "I'm probably going to just pick up something from Turtle&Canary to hand out. So, if you get a Ratman Valentine, you'll know who it's from."

"You know, I have more than enough stuff for just me," Cassie said.

Teddy eyed the lace warily. "But, lace. Let me keep some of my masculinity, will you?"

"You don't have to use that bit," Cassie said. "D'uh."

With another look at the lace, Teddy sighed and set his notebook aside. "As long as you promise no lace."

"There's construction paper without any lace," Cassie reiterated. "It's only as girly as you make it, dork."

Teddy took the mature way out of the conversation and stuck his tongue out at Cassie.

"What are you doing for Valentine's?"

"Wishing certain people weren't evil and in the future," Cassie said.

Wow, this wasn't awkward at all.

"Did you want to hang out?" Teddy offered. "We can watch crappy romance movies and mock them and eat chocolate."

"Don't you have a boyfriend to be spending time with who isn't Billy, you jerk?" Cassi asked.

Setsuna, feeling a little bored and restless about Wednesday, came poking her ponytailed head into the common room to see who else was up and around.

"Hey Setsuna!" Teddy waved as he looked up from his notebook.

"Oh, hello, Teddy," Setsuna smiled a little, giving a small wave back as she came into the room, took a seat on the couch, allowing her neck to strain only just smidgen toward the notebook out of a natural curiousity. "What's that you're working on? Homework?"

"Uh, not really." Teddy pulled it closer to his chest. "Just trying to think of something for a Valentine present for Chad."

"Ah," Setsuna nodded a little, pulling up her legs underneath her as she curled comfortably on the sofa. "Coming up with anything yet?"

He slouched in his seat. "Not a clue so far. I don't want it too seem too girly. No offense."

Setsuna shook her head. "None taken. Why not just get him chocolate? That's what I'm doing for everyone."

Well, not everyone. Blushing slightly, Setsuna decided she didn't need to mention anything more than that, really.

Teddy sighed heavily and rested his head on the back of the couch. "I could, but I kinda wanted it to be special, you know?"

"It isn't the object that makes it special," said the girl who had hired out the twins to make sure Ranma stayed away from this room all Wednesday so that he wouldn't have even the slightest inclination of the masterpiece of honmei-choco she was planning to make, "but the intention behind it. I'm sure whatever you decide to give him will mean a lot..."
