Lucas had a giant bowl of popcorn and was sitting in front of the TV. There was a documentary on, but the remote control was out of reach, so if anyone grabbed it they could probably flick over to something else.

"I did," he nodded, back to his regular level of calm. "I miss it."

"Me too," she agreed. "I'm glad we're by the ocean though. Not being near would be strange."

"Yeah, I don't think I could handle being away from the water." It was weird talking to someone who understood. "Uh, this is going to...I don't normally do this, but there's this dance thing tomorrow and you don't have to say yes, but if you're not already going with someone, I was...do you maybe want to go? With me?"

Katara was taken aback by the question and really didn't know how one responded to that. So she smiled a bit tentatively, tried not to blush, and nodded. "That would be fun. Okay."

"Okay? Okay," Lucas repeated, grinning. "Very cool. Do you want to meet there? Or I can pick you up?"

"I could meet you there," Katara said, grinning back and making a mental note to figure out where there was. And to figure out what to wear. "It'll be fun!"

"Yeah!" Lucas agreed. "It will. Cool." Looking far too pleased with himself, he munched on some popcorn.

Katara unwrapped a chocolate and ate it and tried not to grin too much.
