Third Floor Common Room - Thursday Evening

Lucas had a giant bowl of popcorn and was sitting in front of the TV. There was a documentary on, but the remote control was out of reach, so if anyone grabbed it they could probably flick over to something else.

Katara hadn't done much of anything today but walk down to the water and play with it for a bit. So she wandered into the Common Room to try to find some more chocolate. Or hot chocolate. Both would be nice.

"Hi!" she said happily to the boy already there.

Lucas looked up from his popcorn, unknowingly clutching the popcorn bowl a little tighter. "Uh, hi," Lucas replied. "I'm Lucas."

"I'm Katara," she replied. She noticed the clutching and worried. "I'm not interrupting you, am I? Just wanted to find some hot chocolate."

Turtle was feeling restless and running up and down the halls (not her own, of course, because, hey, she had to live with those people), and whizzed by the common room, stopped, and then backtracked, with exaggerated backwards walking gestures. She stopped, breathless, at the door. "People!" And then moved in and flopped on the couch with a deep exhale. "Whooo..." She fanned herself a little. Running up and down the halls could be exhausing.

"Been running a marathon?"

"Not quite," Turtle said with a huff of air, lifting a finger, but only getting it half-raised before dropping it back down lazily, "but close. These halls? A lot longer than they look."

"Turtle," Katara said with a wave. "Did something chase you? A lack of detention maybe?"

"Ohmigosh, Katara!" Turtle gasped dramatically. "You wouldn't believe it if I told you! Every...everywhere I turned, it was there, following me! This...this....horrible..." She whipped her head around behind her, as if checking to see if whatever it was was still there, sending her braid sailing over her shoulder and settling down her front. "Whew," she said, turning around with a breath of relief, until she looked down at the trail of braid and let out a small shriek, "Ahhh! There it is! The Braid! The Braid of DOOOOOOM."

Which was when she couldn't keep up the act anymore and feel into a reeling of giggles, clutching her stomach from laughing so hard.

...She was in an odd mood tonight.

Cassie wandered up a floor, because she could.

"What're we watching?"

"I wouldn't really call what we're doing 'watching' so much as 'having some background noise to fill in the uncomfortable silences in conversation'. But it's about penguins."

"Oooh, penguins," Cassie said. "I totally approve of penguins." She went and sat down, not far from where Lucas was. "Oh, hi, by the way. I'm Cassie."

"Watch out for the BRAIIIIIDS!" was Turtle's immediate response.

Cassie blinked. "Whyyyyyyy?" she replied in an equally dramatic voice.

"Cassie!" Katara said. "Watch out! One will get you!"

"...are you on about the braids, too?"

Pam was bored and restless, so she wandered until she found a common room with people in it. "Hey!"

Oh thank god, a sort of familiar face. "Hey," Lucas said, now feeling a little out of place surrounded by girls. His ego wasn't minding it at all. "Come and have some popcorn?"

"Collie!" Turtle beamed through her laughs, though she was losing steam. "Thank God they didn't get you too!"

Stark was feeling like attempting to be social again, so he'd gone in search of an occupied common room. And look, here was an occupied common room.

"Hello," he said to the room, and waved.

Lucas raised a hand to wave. "Hey. It's popcorn and penguin night." He may have been a little too relieved to see another guy.

The other girls? Really shouldn't have encouraged Turtle. She bounced on the couch as Stark came in.

"Behold! He who has no hair will confuse the Braid and they will flee in terror!"

The thing about popcorn is that the smell carries pretty far. Its sweet scent was what encouraged Will to leave her dorm room, and wander downstairs to a common room.

"Hey! Anything good on?"

"There are penguins," Stark answered, waving a hand at the TV. "So if penguins are good, then yes."

"Hey. There's popcorn and penguins. Well, penguins on TV, popcorn here." He offered the bowl. "I'm Lucas."

Turtle didn't know this girl. But Turtle was really hyper. So she waved enthusiasticly and chirped a greeting. "Hi!"
