First Floor Lobby [Saturday Evening]

Benton woke up this morning to Dief licking his face and wanting to go outside. So, after sliding on clothes and tying his own shoes, Benton wandered into the lobby with Dief at his side.

He's got a book in front of him, a puppy at his side and cereal to eat.

Aiden eventually found her way up to the school. The town just wasn't big enough for her.

When she got to the lobby, she completely ignored Benton, and went to pet the cute puppy instead.

The puppy was completely happy with the attention and jumped on Aiden.

Aiden squealed happily. "Hi," she said to the puppy as she ruffled his fur.

"His name is Dief," Benton supplied helpfully. "He likes you."

Hermione had been holed up in her room for most of the day, since going out lead to things like being doused with holy water. So she might be a little surprised to see a little boy and puppy in the lobby. "Um, hello," she says.

Dief immediately tried to tackle Hermione.

"Hi!" Benton waved.

"He's cute!" she said, finally paying attention to the other kid. "Is he yours?" Aiden asked.

"Woah! Good dog," she says, not having expected a puppy tackle but not wanting to get tackled by a puppy. "Um, are you supposed to be here?"

"Yep!" Benton was quite proud of having a doggie everyone liked. "He's my bestest friend. I'm Benton."

"Yes," Benton said, nodding. "I live here!"

Aiden grinned, still rubbing Dief's back. "I'm Aiden," she said.

She then might have pouted a little. "I don't have a bestest friend here."

"Oh," she says. "Is one of your parents a teacher?"

"Really?" Benton frowned and scooted his book towards her. "I can be your friend!"

"Nope." Benton laughed and Dief tried to bite her hair.

Hermione tries to squirm away from the dog. "He's, um, very friendly."

"He likes you!" Benton said and giggled. "His name is Dief!"

She seemed to perk up at that. "I can?" Aiden beamed at Benton. This boy was waaay nicer than Stupid Jarod.

"Yeah!" Benton bounced around on the floor. "Wanna read together? Or play with the doggie some more?"

"Hello," she says to the dog. At least when Sirius transforms, he spends his time jumping on Harry. "He's cute."

Aiden peered at the book. "Whatcha readin'?" she asked.

"Thank you!" Benton was quite proud of his doggie. "I'm Benton!"

"It's got pictures of boats!" He really didn't know what about the boats but boats!

"Hermione," she introduces herself. "What were you reading before?"

...She needs a life.

"There are lots of boats here," Aiden said. One of the benefits of living on an island, of course. "They're near where I live. Do you live here?"

"Yep!" He pointed down one of the hallways. "I live in a room down there. I have my own bed!"
