Off on the third floor of Sunset Towers, beside Lake Michigan, in Westingtown, Wisconson, socialite and party planner extrodinair Grace Windsor Wexler might have felt a strange, sudden pang of pride for her youngest daughter.

Turtle had prepared the common room for Tannim's birthday party with a discretely tasteful collection of decorations, a snack spread perfect of any event of this sort, and a great selection of bad, cheesy horror films. Now it was just a matter of people arriving to enjoy it, especially the birthday boy.

Oh, and one other thing, in light of the recent academic of wee-tiny adults. She placed a sign outside the common room:

And, being only a two years (and eleven months) shy of twelve herself, she knew that was just asking for the kids to flock. So she hired out the big Mexican kid to act as bouncer.

Drop off presents and cards for Tannim here. If he doesn't show up, Turtle's claimed them all already.

Along with her (http://www.southernpoliceequipment.com/product107.html) gifts (http://www.betsyann.com/pl/pages/store/details.html?hc=1;product_id=5123) and a $25 gift certificate to Turtle & Canary, there was a card informing Tannim that she could be working on starting up the new register system at the store right now but was instead here to celebrate his birthday. The compliments just didn't stop rolling in with this girl.

And the chocolates had nothing to do with trying clear out seasonal inventory, realllllly.

Tannim opened up his gifts and burst out laughing when he saw what the second one was. He immediately put the shin guards on. "Thanks," he said to Turtle. "And thanks for the time. I'm glad that I rate higher than inventory." He smiled at her.

"Well, yeah," Turtle grinned a little, looking away as she blushed. "But barely."

"I'll keep that in mind," Tannim said. "But hey, I'm all safe now!" He grinned down at his legs.

Wyatt dropped off an envelope with a $30 gift certificate to Amazon.com.

"Oh, neat. Thanks, Wyatt!" Tannim said.

Billy didn't know what kinda stuff Tannim liked, so he'd gotten one of those gift cards that can be used anywhere, worth 30 dollars.

"Thanks, Billy," Tannim said, when he saw the card.

"No problem." Billy said. "Didn't know what you liked, so, figured this was a safe bet."

Ami had never met Tannim but after an entire weekend hiding in her room, she emerged in the hopes no one saw her Friday night. She brought along a gift card to Amazon.com

"Oh, thanks!" Tannim grinned.

"You are welcome. Happy Birthday!"

Aiden doesn't have a present. She does have a few leftover bugs-inna-pot from her payback on Jarod earlier.

So she quietly puts them on the table instead. Maybe the Birthday boy will like them.

The bugs had crawled away by the time Tannim got to the gift table. Hopefully they hadn't found the food.

John hides a 10-spot under someone else's card, since he's prepared like that.
